Now that it’s over, what do you think the treasure was that you could turn in for 10k cash?
I’ll go first. I think it was that emerald cross that was inside Neptune’s chest on page 7. Something tells me it’s a Stockwell family heirloom(keepsake)

. I was guessing it was a kilogram ("key") of gold, maybe in form of gold bar or shape of key.
It would have been worth about $10,000 when the hunt began.

It turns out the real treasure was the friends we made along the way.

I was thinking it was similar to the Masquerade Hare, except a fox or a heart, maybe with gemstones and pearls.

I've never given it much thought. It was never about the prize for me, but for the solve. The prize would have been nice, but just never thought much about it.

We always thought it was a sailboat, the interface between wind and sea. "The treasure, valued at over $10,000, is secure in a safety deposit box. " I think it'd be rough getting a sailboat in a safe deposit box..?

Haha, oh right. I still wonder, though, wouldn't storing a boat somewhere for 13 years cost a fortune?

I have to admit, it's a pretty cool idea. Also have to admit that if I actually managed to solve it and I found out that I suddenly owned a boat in Maine, I would be less than thrilled. Can you imagine the taxes and whatever else you would owe on this and then what do you do with it? Try to sell it or pay the dock fees or have somebody sail it to your location, assuming you're anywhere close on the East Coast. I hope Pel was a bit more practical.

I always assumed jewelry. I can’t remember where but at some point I believe Pel was quoted as saying the prize could be figured out from the book as well. On Abenaki’s page, it looked to me like there were necklace and tiara images/shapes hidden in the stones on the lower left of the picture. Obviously I can’t speak to whether or not those are the actual treasures, but they always made me just assume jewelry of some sort.

He did assume the finder might prefer money over the object, so it could be the treasure is not something everyone would appreciate as not everyone is the same religion.

Because I used 'Time' as 'Key' to find a riddle, I thought it would be a 'Golden Hourglass'.... Time- Forever- Held... Treasure Found....
I find it so interesting all the different ideas of what the 'treasure' was... seems like this will be part of the 'unique surprise' like Pel had mentioned in an interview....although a 'value' was given, what it exactly was, was not.... so cool.....
How wonderful!

I believed the cross in the chest to be a nod to Tucker's cross: mysteriouswritings.com/lost-treasure-tuckers-cross/

We thought the treasure was EE Bonds because Neptune's Trident was pointing to the 2 E's in Deep.
