Back in October I became fixated on one spot. Since then, I have guessed a flagpole, the finial on that flagpole, the object in front of said flagpole, and the sphere on which that object is resting. All of the above objects are within the same square foot. At this point, I hope the actual solution is miles away rather than anywhere near my solution. I'm also zeroed in on a flag pole (Flying Flags!) Without giving too much away, does the name of your state begin with a vowel?

No, my state does not begin with a vowel. The first letter of the state is within ten letters of the beginning of the alphabet. I think I’m suffering from searcher bias because I can check off all of the clues.

At least one of you might be thinking about the flagpole adjacent to the giant turkey in Frazee, Minnesota (Pete's home state, after all). I never submitted it (more than a year ago) because I thought it was way too obvious. I figured if it had been the correct answer, then the riddle would have been solved almost immediately. Since the challenge is still ongoing, it must be something else.

At least one of you might be thinking about the flagpole adjacent to the giant turkey in Frazee, Minnesota (Pete's home state, after all). I never submitted it (more than a year ago) because I thought it was way too obvious. I figured if it had been the correct answer, then the riddle would have been solved almost immediately. Since the challenge is still ongoing, it must be something else. I am thinking about flag poles that reside it at least three locations, near each other. The riddle doesn't obviously indicate one of them but one of the clues (Rudolph) points more clearly to one.
And I could be way off and everything I'm seeing is purely coincidence :-)

I’ve been focusing on a flagpole that has a base that is not at ground level. I’ve learned about architecture during my research, so it has been interesting to me. I have not guessed or focused on Frazee.
