I see so much in the image but am having a hard time picking and choosing what is relevant to the puzzle and what isn't. Was using Masquerade to compare but now we know that isn't necessary so back to square one!

Based on the last clue, we are to examine things inside the puzzle. Does anyone think there are additional puzzles and/or ciphers inside the image? Good question. My theory that hasn't panned out is that some of the objects in the center picture are implying what to do with the mini puzzle answers rather than being ciphers/puzzles themselves. I could be wrong but I suspect there is a multi-step process involved, like maybe decoding more than once with different methods, but I've tried everything I could think of and still got nothing. And I have absolutely no use for that mysterious fish. It looks like a signifiant object but I can't seem to fit it in. Maybe the fish is a herring. Would feel better if it were red. ;-)

Was using Masquerade to compare but now we know that isn't necessary so back to square one! Yes! With so many of the images being found in the original and this one, it seemed like there could be a significance to the puzzle in that! Not sure how to determine which are relevant, unless they all are, which would make me completely lost, LOL!

Something must be pointing us to that process, but it looks like we’re all stuck trying to figure that out. Is it too early to ask for another clue? 😂

Beth, I seem to recall that you said earlier that the answer is not a place. Would you be willing to tell us what we are looking for? A thing, a person, a phrase, or something else? Thanks!!

It's been so much guess/checking because I can't seem to find an indicator of what precisely to do.

Beth, I seem to recall that you said earlier that the answer is not a place. Would you be willing to tell us what we are looking for? A thing, a person, a phrase, or something else? Thanks!! Personally I don't think this would help. If we figure out the correct method, we're going to get obvious english words. Knowing in advance what type of thing those words will be won't help us figure out the method. That's just me of course but Beth did say something similar in a previous post. She said it's not a location but knowing that won't help you solve it. I'd find it more helpful to know if there's a multistep process involved after we have all the mini puzzle answers.

Actually I'd rephrase it to be:
Is there more than one cipher involved after we get the answers to the mini puzzles?

Think about the answers to these questions:
Once you solved the mini puzzles, what were your answers? Are there similarities to those answers? Looking at those answers, is there a common cipher in which you can apply these answers? Did my clue picture that common cipher? Maybe the picture of the clue might sorta, kinda give you an idea how that cipher works in more ways than one.
The Fish is not a red herring. It is just a Fish. And it is there For a very good reason.
To answer another question in the posts: The FINAL result you will get are WORDS. They do not give a place. Knowing this will not help you solve this.

Congratulations to: Mo Finnegan, Bill Gardner, Brian Poeppelman, Jen Rao, and Nancy Zitko! They worked as at team to solve Pie in the Sky!
The full solution will be posted soon.
The short version is this... The mini puzzles produced answers that were numbers in the range of 1-5. This should have alerted you to a Polybius Square Cipher. The artwork is square. If you lay a 5x5 grid on top of the square artwork, many of the illustrations will fall into the grid and show you the pattern for a polybius square. For example, Bee is B, Dandlion is D, Eye of the hare is E, Fish is F, Mouse is M. Nest is N. One is O. Pinwheel is P. The vine makes a Q shape. A rose is R. Stars are for S....etc...The pattern spirals outward. Then you use the numbers you solved for from the mini puzzles to obtain your letters from the grid. The only word that you do not obtain from the grid is LEARN, which is already given to you in the cards on the bottom left.
I will post all the details soon.

Wow. We were populating our grid with Orange, Pinwheel, Fish and Singlet (sideways one). Each of those are Rotor machines used in cryptology so carried a common theme! Clever solve and congrats to the solvers!
