Please read before starting the hunt!
The Lords of Delftware Instructions:
1. This hunt is both a BOTG hunt and an armchair hunt.
2. There are two prizes, each valued at about $60, so you have a chance to win something even if you can't go BOTG.
3. The first to send in a full, correct answer to the cipher will win one prize.
4. The first to retrieve the proxy rock and submit the code etched on it, will win the other prize.
5. If you are the first to submit both, you will win both. If you solve the cipher and send someone else to retrieve the proxy, you will each receive one prize.
6. The proxy item is an engraved rock. Find the rock, take a photo of it and submit the photo and the code that is etched on it, to me at: forgottenhistoryhunt@gmail.com within 24 hours of finding it.
7. The proxy rock is shown in the puzzle so you know what you are looking for.
8. If the rock is not at the location as shown in the photo when you get there, take a picture of yourself at the site to show the rock is missing. Submit the photo to me at forgottenhistoryhunt@gmail.com. If no one else submits the code to me within 24 hours, you will receive the prize.
9. You can submit the location to me for confirmation before heading out. Be clear and specific when telling me where you think the proxy rock is hidden. I will confirm if you are correct, but even though I will respond as quickly as I can, the first person to submit the code will win the prize.
10. Winners must have a US address.
11. Submit the solution to forgottenhistoryhunt@gmail.com, but use private messaging here on Mysterious Writings for all other communications - questions, comments, or if you feel there is an error.
12. Enjoy the hunt and good luck!

It was noted the title of the hunt image is The Lords of Delfware (no T). This is a typo - the hunt is The Lords of Delftware, so any variation is just a misspelling!
Thank you for your sharp eye!

Crickets are apparently mobbing the bee. Will there be a separate thread for this very tricky cipher?
I've made what I think is progress, and open to collaboration should anyone message me.

Crickets are apparently mobbing the bee. Will there be a separate thread for this very tricky cipher? I've made what I think is progress, and open to collaboration should anyone message me. Clues will be coming, but for right now, I can just say this:
The hunt can be solved with or without the cipher, which is why I am offering separate prizes for BOTG and for the cipher solution. There are two ways to win!
To win the BOTG, you need to go to the site, retrieve the rock and send in the code that is etched on it.
To win the cipher, you need to send me the answer and how you solved it.
If you do both first, you win both prizes :-)
Good luck!

Clarification, if you can. Missing comma after H in the 5th line, intentional?? Thanks!

Clarification, if you can. Missing comma after H in the 5th line, intentional?? Thanks! Good eye! But, no, not intentional. There should be a comma between all letters & numbers. And a period (or nothing) after the final W.

Three ways to solve this hunt, or at least to start to solve it!
1. Find the three British towns 2. Solve the cipher (this is not the three British towns!) 3. Find the photo (hardest to do without 1 or 2)
Good luck!

I feel like I have a compelling story on the 3 towns. But even with that I can't find the picture.
I'm usually drawn first to the ciphers and am stumped! Felt like the last hint was huge but it just didn't work.
Still working on it!
