I promised myself I wouldn't do this for awhile, but I'm gonna put it out there.... (cover image) Notice anything? There are 6 dots in very faint print on the cover. On the radar circle lines, every bold line is 10 lines apart. The first dot is at 0, 2nd @ 11, 3rd @ 20.5, 4th @ 30.5, 5th @42, 6th @ 49. The line bears 327 degrees. The same line is on the cover of the Finding Treasure Paraliminal with much bolder lines. In the paraliminal he speaks about points on the journey displayed on the forest canopy, or something of the sorts. Also, on the advanced copy, the line is not at 327 degrees, but seems to be mirrored. Pete talks about changing things in the advanced copy so as not to give away clues early. But, he was also changing models on the cover during the last few weeks, so it may be a aesthetic choice. Is this a map for finding the points once you are BOTG? Is it clues to cities along the way on their journey? Do the distances in numbers give a clue? Is it a big fat nothing? You decide, I have my own theory about it that fits with one of my solves, but I'm not giving that part away, at least not yet. Let me know what you think. Attachments:

I never looked much at the cover. I bought the Kindle version so had less to physically look at every time I wanted to read the book, I guess. Maybe if we can list places described that they visit we can see if the number of places match the number of dots? Just a thought, although not really too convincing. The fact that the lines are changed in the advanced copy makes me think maybe it it is a clue. I'll think some more about it and post if a significant thought pops up about this.

Okay, something that relates directly to degrees is the story about helping his nephew find the treasure he plants. I think it's 270 degrees mentioned that needs to be taken via compass? That's a direct relation to degrees on a blip map or compass or something similar?
Edit: Could that be a hint to look at the cover?

I only have a kindle as well, you can see the cover just fine on there.
That direction was 210 degrees. In one of my solves, the final trail is 210 degree offshoot from the main trail. But that's all I've come up with so far on that.

Never noticed until now, but I guess I just never look at cover art much on all my kindle books.
Ah, 210! Will have to think more on 210 and the 327 as a possible connection but it's so hard to tell.
Also, the cover would imply north west as a compass direction, seeing as all the points are in a northwesterly direction. In the two versions of the poem, "North" and "West" are the directions mentioned. Another could be connection?

And it's 327 degrees according to my on-screen protractor. Maybe I'll bust out my navigation aids and measure it on the book to get a more accurate reading. OR it is simply pointing NNW. He changes the poem from North to West, but he also includes a quote by Dickens? that says " I am but NNW...", and this line (327 degrees )is technically NNW

I wondered when someone would bring up the dots here. It was one of the first things I figured out (or at least assume I have) and it nailed down my city. I'll give you a hint: it's not a collection of waypoints to be overlaid on a map. If that was the case, the dots probably would have all been connected. Instead, a line intersects 3 of the 6. That the pre-production dust jacket had those dots mirror-imaged would also confuse matters: which one is right?
