I’m so confused - the song says Arianne - which is French for Ariande, and you thought he may have meant Arachne - not Ariande - and someone was able to figure out this song from your clue about Arachne?

Yes, that's true. If you are familiar with the song (my favorite Zep song, btw), you'll know "Arianne" refers to Ariadne of Greek myth, and you might recognize the lyric about the cup being raised, and you might notice the reference to "plant" at the end of the third line. Samantha is not the only one who has wondered whether Plant confused Arianne with Arachne -- I've wondered that, too.
