That was mean. I think that retro is having a good laugh at that. Put yer fun hat on! Fun or not, it's still mean. Calling something somebody created terrible is in really poor taste. Especially when it's not only free entertainment but has a possible financial reward. Have some perspective. Most of this website is filled with unsolvable hunts. Does that make them terrible?

Hey, I didn't say it. Just looking at it from a different perspective. Let's get on with ideas for solving this. It seems to me that we need to build up a W3W location, as per a previous puzzle. Still quite lost on it, even with hints. Guessing them is futile.

Another view of the headstone for those trying to read it. Edit: Image deleted due to legibility not being important, as per retro post below, and saving page-loading time.

I do not see a winning solution as of this morning. I do see that many players and groups are at the final step now thanks to you all sharing and helping one another. A few things to know
1. The words on the stone in the puzzle image are not meant to be legible.
2. Most my puzzles have 3 or more steps and each one gets a bit more challenging as you get closer to the coin. There is no BOTG so the final step of the virtual hunts has to be a challenge to earn that coin prize. For The Translator $100 is up for grabs in this free to play game.
3. This was the most recent hint emailed: "Knowing the right place isn’t enough, the precise location in this virtual puzzle requires the right translation of words to retrieve the coin."
4. All my puzzles will give you a way to narrow down to a region and then smaller area. There is a way to narrow down the search area and then there will be a small amount of trial and error in that area as you fully realize the intended puzzle solution.
Good luck.

Well, I submitted my best guess. I haven't heard anything. If I'm incorrect, I have absolutely no idea where to go from there. So, if anyone wants me to send them the last thing I found, message me. I'd post it here, but I want to be respectful to those who don't like that. I'm happy to share what I've found with those who want the information.

Sounds like you're pretty much there, ig0psycho. Thank you for your generosity!
I mostly struggle with the end game of retro puzzles, although the research has been educational.
C'mon retro, do one that can be solved in a day or two. That would be up my street 🤪
Looking forward to the next one.

Hmm, looks like retro's recent Puzzle Updates email gives more hints than indicated directly. Yer crafty, retro.

Still hoping for a winner this weekend. I'll try to wait another week before giving out another clue.

An interesting figure along my travels: I feel bad for that guy. He's sad, looking up the creek. Hung onto his paddle but lost his canoe! I know how he feels ☹️

Without giving any specifics, this is what I think:
Top poem gives us the movie and a location from that movie, which when interpreted along with the poem and title of the puzzle gives us the cipher key. This is confirmed by the hidden 'acrostic' style message.
The decrypted cipher gives us:
First line is the general area and/or (more likely) an image clue to the next line.
The next line is a very specific spot.
Then we are told to find 3 words.
Now go fish.
For me, the 3 words will be the W3W for the coin location. We find the location from the above, then confirm it with the last line (something about the W3W will fit the last line).
Does anyone disagree?

@0o The Puzzler o0 Concur! Am I alone, or does anyone else see a shark in this puzzle? Not sure I see what you're seeing The USS Shark met its demise in the area and we have crushing death, soaked in blood (Jaws), plus 'Mouth', not to mention the reel/fishing ref and hidden poem. Maybe one of the W3W words.
