This has to be the most interesting solve I can remember. Fascinating, I really like it, and dont like it, at the same time. Using real time site video to determine when rain hit the area, combined with weather information. I think the circle radius was down to 27 miles at the time, wonder if the clues were also needed, weather information still seems a bit vague.

. Wait a minute, I thought the bounty from sharing the participators fee with the finder was part of the original prize. But the website says that the bounty has been placed and they have a camera on it even as of this morning. So does that mean there is a another hunt? projectskydrop.com/

. Wait a minute, I thought the bounty from sharing the participators fee with the finder was part of the original prize. But the website says that the bounty has been placed and they have a camera on it even as of this morning. So does that mean there is a another hunt? projectskydrop.com/The creators have changed rules ongoing. It's been a bit of a roller coaster hunt. What happened is the Key Words on the trophy to claim the bounty were compromised. So the creators decided to make a new puzzle - of which they said they are 'pretty sure' only the Winner of the trophy can solve. The answer to this new puzzle (made really for Dan/the winner of trophy to retrieve the bounty) provides a set of coordinates of where the near 88k in gold sits. However, some people are trying to solve this new puzzle to find the bounty and claim it. And who knows maybe they can. It could also be found by some random person too. Unlikely, but certainly possible depending on how long this goes on. .and caution...... this could all change whenever the creators want to change it..... but as of now (as of this writing) that is the plan - for Dan/the winner is to solve the puzzle to discover the coordinates for where his bounty sits somewhere in the forest in the NorthEast - so he can then go and 'retrieve it'. They didn't want to just 'give it' to him.

He posted a video showing how the trophy was made. It came out of the mold in one piece. The surveillance video showed when the finder was standing next to the trophy; it was whole. Then he picks it up and it seems like it's separated rings and not in one piece. Gold does not oxidize or deteriorate so why is it in pieces? If the words/characters on the trophy were compromised during manufacturing then why not just send the templet with wordings to him? Overall a good return on investment. $25K in gold investment yielded the creator $88k (1/2 of entry fee) + another $88k unclaimed.

. Thank you for the updates. I have found some more information including a news article that says the clues for the new hunt have been released online to those paying. There is also a video from the finder of the original treasure. He gives more detail surrounding his finding, but not really any background as to the technique he used when he applied his weather knowledge to find the treasure. www.nbcboston.com/news/local/project-skydrop-new-england-gold-coins/3517189/?amp=1

Wouldn't say scam, but definitely poorly run. Do I give them credit for trying something new? Yes. Will I buy into something they do going forward? Nope.
