I have received a second correct and complete answer to the hunt - congrats to the winners!
I am leaving the hunt open for a while longer to see if I can gather more winners - I have a few extra prizes, so there is still time to grab one :-)
Good luck!

If you are still stumped after the last 6 clues (six?), here is clue #7:
4:3:3 1:2:1 3:2:3
2:1:4
Good luck!

The hunt will end at midnight EST on Wednesday 1/25/23 if I don't get at least one more winner. I have two additional prizes, so there are still two more chances to win! So here is the last clue to the hunt! Be sure to review the previous clues!
Clue #8 (with a reminder of the previous clues):
#1: Definition of a 'line": The first 'line' is "China bauble exits the..." Each line may or may not be a complete sentence.
#2: Shows the spacing and length of each answer
#3: HASTENING A REALM
#4 (5,6): HINT: REGAL SEAMAN HALTS NEAR ENIGMA 'NEATH A REALM SIGN.
#7: 4:3:3, 1:2:1, 3:2:3, 2:1:4
#8: Image: Verse: Line
Good luck! I'll be watching for the next two winners!

Because there are only hours left in the hunt and there is still one unclaimed prize, I offer not another clue, but words of encouragement:
Look carefully at clue #'s 3,4,5 & 6
Good luck!

The hunt has officially ended. Congratulations to the winners! First, I'm going to reveal the answer to clues #3,4,5 & 6:
3. HASTENING A REALM =ANAGRAM THE LINES
4. HINT: REGAL SEAMAN =ANAGRAM THE LINES
5. HALTS NEAR ENIGMA =ANAGRAM THE LINES
6. 'NEATH A REALM SIGN=ANAGRAM THE LINES
Now, the solution:
Pioneering British film-maker George Albert Smith made films between 1887 and 1912, using many innovative techniques that were ground-breaking for the time, including the first films shown in color.
Each line of the poem is an anagram of a different film title, listed below. The lines noted with * are the four films represented in the images.
Anagram Film Title
China bauble exits the .................. The Inexhaustible Cab (1908) Temple where the land is............... The Miller and the Sweep (1898) Ragged. Landmass rings a ............ Grandma's Reading Glass (1900) *Map... Ashes in my jar.............. Mary Jane's Mishap (1903) (Stove image)
*Aside, Ivie toasts the .............. A Visit to the Seaside (1908) (Beach image) Reborn Elf King. A glass diamond... Old Man Drinking a Glass of Beer (1897) *Sold at the Medieval Inn.......... The Old Maid's Valentine (1900) (Valentine)
Extra shy, ................................... The X-rays (1897) Rawboned spies............................ Spiders on a Web (1900) *Search the Eagle Opus Stone.... As Seen Through a Telescope (1900) (Bicycle image)
The 3 answers to the hunt are three films he made in 1898:
1898: The Miller and the Sweep (line 2 of the poem) 1898: Photographing a Ghost (not included in the poem) 1898: Santa Claus (not included in the poem) – Santa Claus is consid ered his most accomplished work, where he used picture within a picture and double-exposure techniques. It is also the very first Christmas film made.
Most of George Albert Smith's films can be watched online – each is around 1 minute in length. They are fun to watch to see how early film-making was done. A far cry from today's CGI used in Avatar! You can find and watch most of his films just by googling the title. I recommend taking a look at them.
In 1908, he created Kinemacolor which used alternating red and green filters to provide the first color films. I tinted the beach image in red and green because A Visit to the Seaside was the first to be filmed in Kinemacolor.
If anyone googled the image of the stove, they would notice I added a bottle of paraffin to the image as Mary Jane's Mishap involved starting her stove with paraffin - with disastrous results.

Congratulations! to the winners:

Also, honorable mention to two amazing researchers. Although they did not solve the hunt, they both found viable 'solutions' that fit with all the images and the lines of the bizarre "poem"!
First, tab, who was the first to accidentally find the Santa Claus movie - and who found that Santa Claus has been known as the Elf King (which I did not know). She also made amazing connections between the hunt and Empress Elizabeth of Austria, who was assassinated in 1898 - The Assassination of a Queen.
And choice, who also found incredible connections between the hunt and the Victorian Women's Movement, with a lot of significant events occurring in 1898.
Thanks, everyone for playing. I hope you had fun diving down the rabbit holes of history - and please do take the time to watch George Smith's movies :-)

Since it is winter, and the hunt was released on Christmas day, the prizes are handmade glass snowmen (the glass artist is Kristi MacDonald of MacDonald's Glass Farm). I am including two photos to show that the black lines seen the first photo are just reflections of the trees, and not actually part of the snowmen!

This is the smartest forum around. It's good to see so many briliant minds in one place; puzzle creators and solvers. Mixing my metaphors, I stand in the presence of gods while standing on the shoulders of giants. Lack of drama is refreshing too!

Thanks again for pulling this together. Even the wrong directions I went were fun, and the ultimate solution was very cool!
