happyhuntingNice job. Cibola, El Dorado. I see no specifics required for coordinates. Are we to find a golden location and pick the nearest arrow? (not to you, to retro)

I had the method but not the exact spot. I was using a map that was missing the location. happyhunting had the right location by using the other reference site which I had forgotten about since figuring out the method, but they must not have had the method quite right. This was a team win Can you add the prize to the next puzzle's prize pool?

This was a team win Can you add the prize to the next puzzle's prize pool? It's great to see two participants coming together with two different pieces of the puzzle to finally solve this one. Congratulations to you both. It is very generous of you to pay it forward too! As another hunter who enjoys doing these hunts, thanks!

Congratulations to The Puzzler, first to the coin! This turned out to be a challenging puzzle hunt. In the end the winning submission was the only submitted attempt in the 856J grid area of the Google Plus coordinate grid where the coin ultimately was located. There were guesses from the Grand Canyon to Winslow Az to the alternate concrete arrow beacons to route 66 points but only the Puzzler found beacon #66 in Cibola County, NM. The solution has been posted www.retro13.com/solution-for-the-wayfinder/ -
If you have constructive comments on the puzzle solution you can DM me on the forums. I've been proud of all my puzzles so far and I do try to improve when I receive thoughtful feedback. The next puzzle hunt is ready and will be just as tricky but I might delay it a bit to support the many hunts being launched for the Masquerade Tribute. So we will wait for those to launch in ~10 days and see what the interest is for more puzzles at the same time.

Congrats to The Puzzler! I just looked at my notes and it was my next guess, haha. It threw me off a little because it was listed as 67 on another part of the site. I've seen those aviation arrows before, such a neat part of history, so it was fun to have those included in this. Excited for the next one

I was laser focused on the arrow at the Grants-Milan airport museum that provides info on these arrowsβ¦also in Cibola county. I missed the Route 66 nudge. Congrats to the finders! Well done!

@retro Delay it? No, now, now! The moon is a waning crescent where I am, so nights are very dark. Need the next puzzle.
P.S. Something serious for future puzzles: Did Captain Kirky ever go to Albuquerque? Ok, that was corny. I'll try harder.
