Starting with the horseman. I would like to get some thoughts going on this one. Any of the six pieces.
I think the car with the v means "carvings".

To your question about 8.5 and 3468. I could not discount it but doesn't seem plausible. How would this be calculated? The rest of the clues seem obvious once understood, this one seems very complicated.
But again, JIMO. I think these numbers are key. Can't figure it out!

I answered the 2nd question anyone else working on this hunt? Yes, I got through one, working on two. Congrats on getting two.

I am lost about the jeux line? What is the pep solve?
I understand the tool portion. I believe it is a hand tool. Based on the stick figures in the May clue.

Squire you may be right. I went out with my youngest last week, elementary school age so I didn't seem out of place, just to watch the park. There were obvious hunters there. With how much it obviously fits I don't think insane that some searchers thought it might be there.
One male didn't want to go in but kept circling the fence. I saw the scroll in his hand but saw another mom keep looking over at him. Even though he didn't come in the gate, it made for a strange situation.
I just sat and watched, with all the clues to a preschool playground, the street names, the five sides shape, the French word that means games, the three circles, it is not a ridiculous leap, imo.
I can't take the trip in more as I am not close enough. I wonder if this is now a daily issue .
But creepy. Probably should have been thought through better.
I don't think with the latest clue it is there, but again also don't think insane.
Again, the silence is interesting. Especially since the last clue seems to be related to this thread. Another, hmmmmmmm.

The person who is organizing the hunt has issued a statement today he made some clarification and that info "deter legit treasure hunters from his little game". I am not sure what that means.
Jenny, not sure if the person putting the hunt on wants this info here as I would think your site is related to treasure hunters , and not sure what the definition of a "legit treasure hunter" is.... lol! Tried PMing you, not sure if the message made it to you. If you are one of the 48 in the hunt, you got the message but it is also on twitter (at least part of it).
Squire - not sure what to think. The site has gone silent, which may mean something, not sure what. In looking back on this post many have gone out, even volunteering to help others and now silent. Hmmmmm......

Yep, sorry. Just got it forwarded today to me. Yes, I saw that video today as well. It turns out that the press release book is unsolvable as he changed names, numbers, etc so that anyone receiving a copy of this early release would not have an unfair advantage in starting hunting before everyone else when the treasure hunt officially started. If you have the paperback copy, that seems to be the press release version so it is not good for solving the treasure hunt because of the changes. He said that is why you see different values on the internet. So the correct numbers are the ones that I have posted, for whatever they might mean. And don't forget when he asked to make sure to help him with getting additional searchers to buy the book and advertise books and contact the newspapers. Also the other products that are being spammed have hints. Still no video as promised with purchase. I spoke with several searchers today. They are running away from this one. Buyer beware, though I do think some here got a refund due to all of the issues. Run.

Pete references this code in his Facebook posted today. The entire FB video is .... well, there are no words for it. Are you talking about the video posted on the 17th? I don't see anything posted today. Yep, sorry. Just got it forwarded today to me.

Would someone with the electronic version post Sue and Lane's words that come before and after the 23 string? Thanks in advance. “This clue stopped me completely,” said Sue, reading “E2tue3I2l2jA2tulB5ys3oj.” “Ah!” exclaimed Lane. “Me, too. I had a cross word and nasty thought when I saw it. A string of them. I didn’t know whether it was a puzzle or whether you needed a cypher.” “I don’t even know what a cypher is,” said QB Earl. “I stared at it for hours. Nothing came to me,” added Lane. “Well?” I asked. Everyone looked at me. “Where are we going?” Lane gave an answer, very assuredly, no doubt, and he was spot on. I smiled. Everyone looked around. They smiled. Of course, given where we were, it would have been a fair guess. Still QB Earl asked, “How the hell did you get that from ‘hodaddy tsktsk pretty pie apple pie?’” “I was chanting it to myself in the shower and it just streaked into my mind. I wrote it on the shower door in the steam, and there it was staring at me, not like that other one you just read,” said Lane, turning to Sue. “E2tue3I2l2jA2tulB5ys3oj.” “And, we still have to decipher that little poem, because I haven’t figured that out,” I said. They knew what I was talking about, because it was in the stack of clues. “Just maybe it will become clear as we get near.” Sue read it aloud. You wouldn’t guess by looking at a tree, That it could eat anything other than sunshine. but as the sun shines down just north of this old town the eyes they look ahead its mouth it opens wide in darkness lips curl over the boulder it freely eats You wouldn’t guess by looking at a tree, That it could eat anything other than sunshine. Everyone froze in silence, not having the foggiest idea what it meant. Then, as if a video was taken off pause, we all agreed it seemed interesting, eagerly readied ourselves for the final drive, and chatted more about where they had gotten on their own trying to solve the puzzles and clues. They all had different takes, and everyone was so close. Perhaps had it not been so self-evident to me when I first saw it, we would have figured it out together. I guess I can be co-creative. And I guess that’s why I still thought Quarry Girl, Marie, could be on the hunt—it was so obvious to me.

Here are today’s discoveries:
Stick Figures convert via the code: BOY CAB FLOW LEN I think we all know that.
BUT – the streets they correspond to: Boylen Lenoir Caberro Florence (the w is off and I think means something) These four streets cross each other near the grid area and make a perfect box. This narrows the area to the “4 corners” or box at an elementary school and playground (I think a poor choice to have an elementary school involved in a solve, but that is just me).
The five sided symbol is within this school/park – perfectly. It is a playground. It is called “Project Enlightenment Park”. If you google it, it fits perfectly. Enlightenment is the name of the school and playground - - “existential” in the poem.
There is a row of what I think are plum trees there too. All seems to fit.
The three small circles is one of the “games” in the playground, actually there are two sets of these. I think that is the jeux reference.
Within two blocks is a mobile vet that is now closed, but can be found on google earth. This could be the car and the v.
Additionally the box can refer to “Box Car Bar and Arcade” which is just over the rail road tracks from this location. This was the past “spy raleigh”, which was a bar. Spyraleigh.com (need to google it and cache). I think another play on words on being a spy in this hunt.
I am trying to play a very honest hunt, so am putting it all out there. Hope that is respected and can collaborate to share more ideas. Please let me know if you see something further. Also, be careful as to what you look like if you are an adult in a playground area with small children searching. Unfortunately, it fits perfectly, so could see why someone would go there.
Jenny, were you in Raleigh by chance today for this hunt? Just curious.
I will probably go out this weekend, not in Raleigh but close enough to scout it out.
K (and all IMO!)

Yes nice to have some chatting going on. Here is a few other things.
The car and the v underneath means carvings
I don't know about the three swirls
Not sure what the three circles mean
The year on the coin is covered and means something
I think provincial means it's definition which is country or rustic.
The juex reference means a game or activity. Dorothea dix has a ton of games and events there.
Cab and flow not sure. But an obvious hint.

Interesting. I thought the three cowboys has a minus symbol next to it then the vase, so it is a word game. Not sure the word though. I did find the picture is just a stock pic off the Internet.
I will have to look up the spittoon lead. Interesting.
I have a friend that lives in Raleigh and can look if needed. I will contact him and see what progress or updates he has with more of the solve.
Yes, and everything is imo of course!

Ok, in good spirit of getting good stuff going, here is my best find on this one. The grid I believe is
2 long vertical lines : Dawson and McDowell
Lesser lines: Harrington, s. West, Boylen.
If you use the stick guys and convert then you get one that says BOY and one that says LEN.
If you put In grid line mode on google or mytopo, it fits to me exactly.
And yes, this is the same boylen road that runs into Dorothea dix. And there is a station near by.
I thought the dinosaur meant the natural science museum. But that didn't pan out. It is too city and doesn't fit "provincial" which I believe it is in more country.
