I wanted to share an upcoming treasure hunt now (as other books are involved that are available). I've already included it as a bonus in the following post on MW:
mysteriouswritings.com/top-ten-armchair-treasure-hunts-and-their-lost-treasures-to-find/
But the hunt is part of the Devil's Backbone book series by James Babb- the last book, The Devil's Den is being released October 1st, and that is when the hunt begins. However the first two are available now to read. So you can be ready! They are great reads- filled with adventure and history relating to the area of the hunt-- which is in Arkansas.
More will be coming soon---- I'll be doing a Six Questions with James closer to the date. Plus, here soon, I'll do a summary of the hunt and what is involved.
Til that all though, let me share an email from James to myself which offers a bit more on the hunt now!

Hi Jenny!
Here’s some more information about the treasure hunt in my books.
All three of the books in this series are family friendly historical fiction. In the second and third books two young boys hide a wooden box in Fort Smith in 1881. I thought it would be neat if the box was actually there for people to find so I placed items in the box that are described in the books and hid it exactly where the boys did. The clues are in the books for young readers to find but things have really changed since 1881.
Whoever finds the box first gets to keep the contents!
Here’s some more information about the treasure.
Todd’s Treasure Is Out There!
Brody and Todd hid the treasure box in 1881 and it was never found. It’s there and if you are the first to find it, you can keep Todd’s Treasures! You can use clues in this series of books to get you there.
You will have to read carefully to discover everything you’ll need. Just remember that it’s been at least 136 years since the box was hidden. The landscape will have changed greatly. The trees will have grown and so has Fort Smith.
Please read how Brody hid the box. It is not buried. You will not need a shovel. Please do not dig any holes. Use a compass and your brain and go for it.
Before you head out, be sure to check James’ blog at JamesBabb.wordpress.com. If you find Todd’s Treasure, the items inside are yours to keep but leave the box for others to find. Please follow directions on the blog and send a photo of yourself at the site. James will ship you an autographed book to the first person to find Todd’s Treasure!
If you check the blog and see that the treasure has already been found, feel free to go on the hunt anyway. Leave a note in the box, or anything you wish. Send a photo, proving you found Todd’s Treasure Box and your picture will be placed on James’ website and he will send you an autographed bookmark.
Happy hunting!
