WyMustIGo:
I am extremely confident that your story on Youtube, “Does the Poem Tell Two Stories,” has relevance to the chase. That is why I started this thread.
You would not believe how close you are to unlocking-understanding clues, IMO. I recommend further study to understand what exactly you are looking at. But as a sidebar to all searchers, if you believe the Kirwin area is promising, there is still much work to be done for a complete solve. As ff said pg 147 ttotc, “No time spent in thought is wasted and nothing is to small to know, so one should not let knowing a little bit be a substitute for learning more.”
For all on this forum, I recommend you watch WymustIgo’s presentation.
Good luck to all!

Does that name, "rotorwash", remind anyone else of Skippy's washing machine helicopter? ("My Brother Being Skippy", TTOTC, page 50) And Forrest said in his most recent Six Questions that he wanted to be a helicopter pilot. Plus "buried standing up" and that Skippy died at age 50, same as the page I listed above. And also, Forrest went to that place with the French graves in a helicopter. This is a lot of coincidences. Worth more investigation. Rotor wash = turbulence, WAKE, jet blast, vortex, trailing vortice

“My war for me” seems to be more and more prevalent.

I'd equate a WAKE to a funeral. Good catch. Yup I just read an older post about concy saying,"No flies on that!", which means one is wide AWAKE. Interesting!

“My war for me” seems to be more and more prevnalent. Hi Heidini: one factor that has always concerned me as far as extracting hints or clues from My War for Me is that 99% of that story in TTOTC appeared many years previously in a military-audience- targeted publication. Would he deliberately hide hints in that story in anticipation of years later publishing his first memoir that includes the treasure hunt? I'm not saying it's impossible, but it does seem like the least likely chapter for hints hiding in the text. That said, there are some interesting changes between the original and what ended up in his book. If people are looking for hints or clues, I would laser-focus on those edits.

He said in an interview that if we read nothing else, read “my war for me.”

Yes, I did, as far as edits. But really, I focused on ttotc.

Heidini: indeed. I suspect it's the reason JDA and many others think there are hints in the illustration on (I think) page 99: the one with the jet launching two bombs. But the text itself, largely, had been published years previously for an audience who knew nothing of his treasure-chest hiding plans.
