I posted this as a response to someone on the facebook site, so I thought I would post it here also:
When you solve some of the puzzles, including the math equation, if you have done it properly, you should be given CLUES on how to decipher the symbols.

CLUE 3a
I am feeling generous today. So I am going to add something to clue 3:
Dmitri can tutor you on how he maps those mathematical numbers.

Hmmmm..."Dmitri" made me think of two different people. It has to be a "he". The first one seemed very likely at first, but the concept just didn't work with the numbers, or maybe I'm just doing it wrong. I couldn't get anywhere with that one yet. The other one I'm thinking of is a totally different person but it seems to fit a lot better. Maybe a bit of a stretch, but the concept fits in with the famous grandson (assuming I have the grandson right). It also involves math, just a different kind. Hmmmm....!

Such a frustrating time. I think I have all the puzzles solved but one, and maybe I know what it is. BUT, I still don't have the two questions. I probably have a 100 questions, but not 2. My advise to anyone working this puzzle is to go the "easy" route. I have spent exactly one week on vacation, working everyday to crack this puzzle, and have been around the world twice, when some of the answers were right in front of my face.

Congrats on the puzzles you've solved so far! Thanks for the good advice. I know there's something in the math that is easier than I think.
I know what you mean about frustration. I wonder if people are all stuck on the same thing, or if we're stuck on different things! I think I've solved many of the puzzles, and I'm hoping to figure out the math numbers, but not there yet.
I do hope someone solves this before I go on my trip on April 21st - I'll have to be away from the internet for a week then, won't be able to get any news on the puzzle!

SOME ADVICE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SOLVED SEVERAL PUZZLES
I have been giving clues to put people on track with some of the puzzles. And as a result, I have been getting comments from some of the players who have advanced in the game, asking, "When are you going to give US a clue?"
I wasn't planning on giving a clue to those who have advanced far in the game because you are near the end. If you have gotten this far, you should be able to complete the entire puzzle! What you can do is look back at the individual puzzles that you have solved. Ask yourself, what have you used in the art? What haven't you used in the art? Are there any loose ends?
I did say before, that NOT EVERY thing will be used to solve a puzzle. But look closely at the elements in the art. Are there some items that seem like they are meant to hold a clue?
AND...I did think of a clue that I can provide that won't give too much away. So I will release that clue in another post.

Although I’m not quite there yet, this is the best news I’ve heard all day. At least I know I’m going in the correct direction.
