I'm in a bit of rabbit hole on searching. I have uncovered some interesting info, so think of me if this helps ya walk out of the woods with the chest. I will be using this info in my solve if I have time to make a trip again this summer. What do Miss Ford, Bessie the cow and Fred all have in common? mtmemory.org/cdm/ref/collection/p15018coll43/id/698mtmemory.org/cdm/ref/collection/p15018coll43/id/3459FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS and CATCHER IN THE RYE are both what? Gates in Montana. There's more meat on the bone of this that I am saving for myself, but easily enough found by doing some googling around. Look above Ryegate Montana, if you ever venture to Dal's site it might be interesting for ya. 😏 Promise this to be good worth while research I came across by marrying some Indian lore to the poem and google maps. I hope this spurs some thoughts and ideas to share.

My basic answer I would re-hide. To the extent, you can hide better, outside the poem. Unless the original hide was better and accessible.
Seemingly your best choice is to go legit, at auction. Hate the idea, but who knows what ff has planned.

Did forrest say he would slip a nickel under bessie the cow tomb stone every now and then. This tells be there's nickel mineral is in the stone at the location of the TC at a Quarry in a forrest heavy loads. So there for a metal detector will not help you in the location where the TC sets There's to many stones with nickel in the stone that is in the ground around the area of the TC.Thats why you half to be right up on top of it to find it.

Comes up with a triangle over lay on a map with a 1001ft mark to begin it. Total 2 trips 4004ft less then a few miles horse shoe..

I never meant GL in bad way. I text often but do not admit to have all the acronyms. I am often confused by ttoc acronyms. (%
