I don't know about bronze/paintings, but, IMO, and insofar as 'treasures' are concerned; it's family he treasures. (* Discovery/ collecting Native American artifacts being well above Art and bronze).
BTW.....following is an early link from F's January 2011, (first), Santa Fe blog regarding early Spanish artifacts which might come in handy:

odd, I just got through telling someone about it being hid in just such a manner and had Cam. in my solve. I know which stone "object". This site or my cell is bogged down, any one else having this problem? I better be on guard against this crap, esp. ahora. |

This is how I see forrest hiding the TC. I believe forrest found a crack or a small tomb in the ground he put TC chest in the crack or tomb in the ground then he took rocks to lay on top of the TC though some leaves a log or 2 on the rocks 2 floors to get to the TC this poem leads you to a dead end that's why forrest said he can't imagine that someone would get 12ft and cant find the TC. It's a 12ft maze that leads you to the end. |

Speaking of Eric Sloane; some of his works have been known to show up in some fairly unusual places. (The Jackie Kennedy mention is priceless)
Worthy of a read or two or three. Most definitely.
