Can't believe nobody has ever called bs on this. Sandstone would fall apart against a rock of marble like qualities. So that's an aberration your directed to via poem and wwwh specifically. In the manner that we reduced "home of Brown" to hob is the opposite of the manner in which the solve points to the tc being in a Fireplace. But what is a fireplace? Where to warm up, a volcano, an oven, a Phoenix, ones ass after a paddling, a Phoenix, a blaze, etc. I won't ruin the map by whispering here but gut is middle, waistline or is waste line, draw, rifle, axe, front porch. Remember there are two halves to each clue and you must put them together. Brave is lion, in the wood crazy. Bats in the BELLfry. Lion+bat= lat(latitude) or bion(buying). Just a fun example.

I believe Forrest used the word sandstone to take your attention away from the hint in the story.

Sandstone can work, depending on the hardness of the rock. Temple has predominantly sandstone and shale (a soft cliff-builder known for slanted top-to bottom erosion, like in the Grand Canyon). Sandstone can and does form vertical cliffs.
But not saying you are wrong.
