People seem worried. Relax.
Especially new chasers. Give it your best shot.
The search is a process and understanding comes slowly. Don’t rush to search unless you are confident. Don’t worry about someone beating you to your search area. Be safe!
Imagine I have a confident home of Brown. But how close would I be?
Potential Solutions Needed:
No place for the meek Drawing nigh No paddle Heavy loads and water high The blaze Look quickly down Brave and in the wood
So many paths to travel with multiple potential errors from no place, to brave and in the wood. Precise order? Paraphrasing ff, if you know where it is, then the clues start to make sense. From HOB to a decisive point, the clues would solve differently based on the final spot chosen.
Just because I have a solution that I would like to explore, it does not mean my solution is correct. So, I continue to search other solutions in my general area, to test my thoughts. Maybe I will have an opportunity for botg within the next few months, maybe not. My blaze and adjustment are intriguing. As ff wrote, it is only the last inch that counted. Learning and understanding can come from different perspectives.
Especially to all – I think we can be wary of those who say they absolutely know where the treasure is located. Relax.
All IMO.
PS: Good for ff to make his statement.

Good Advice, robjohnson.... It is the journey, not the destination that counts anyway....

Hi, Jenny. When did you receive this? Today? It was actually yesterday- in the afternoon- but I was heading out for the night, and had to wait to post it today. I sent the question to him from the searcher in the morning (of yesterday/27th).

waver: to begin to doubt or lose your determination to do something Waver - reservation - waiver Maybe the potential finder had “reservations” about going out to retrieve it. 🙂

Good One!!
But it was FF's gut feeling, and thus his (wavering) "reservation" of perhaps the timing of the BOTG trip. What else besides the fires would cause a BOTG to not be successful this time of year? IMO

By definition, a "gut feeling" is not based on hard data. It's akin to a reading of the tea leaves. So, it's a prediction that has nothing to do with weather or fire conditions or park closures.

For military types like myself, wavering tone of a siren means something is imminent.

Is this why my gut feeling is not good? Not good at all.
