SOLUTION 8F...READ THIS TO THE BOTTOM! Answer: The "Constant Vigilance" Statue at the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, North Carolina Sacrifices made around the world Overseas our home banner is unfurled Faithfully we serve our commands Mindful at attention we stand Warriors we are Discipline on par Killing machines Nine lives are not in our genes Solving this one is a little different than the rest. Take the first letters of the first three lines: SOF = Special Operations Forces Take the first letters of lines four to six: MWD = Military Working Dog Take the first letter of the 7th line, and the last word of the 8th line: K Nine = Dog The lines in the poem also indicate that this is some kind of military theme CLUES IN THE ART: The art shows the inside of the museum in an abstract way, but if you went to the website, you would surely recognize it. That is a parachute hanging from the ceileing. In the foreground I pictured the rotor hub from Black Hawk Down, which is in that museum. NOTE: THIS WAS SOLVED BY WILLIAM WIGLEY, WHO REFUSED TO TAKE THE PRIZE MONEY. HE WANTED ME TO LET OTHERS KNOW THAT "IT IS ABOUT THE JOURNEY AND NOT THE DESTINATION". WILLIAM HAS A SON-IN-LAW THAT IS IN THE AIRFORCE AND IS CURRENTLY DEPLOYED. IT SEEMED VERY FITTING THAT HE WAS THE ONE TO SOLVE THIS PARTICULAR PUZZLE. I WANT TO PUBLICALLY THANK WILLIAM FOR BEING SO GENEROUS AND KIND. AND CONGRATULATE HIM ON SOLVING ONE OF THE MORE DIFFICULT PUZZLES!
