"Buried Treasure In the summer of 2013, a man in Santa Fe said he had buried a chest full of coins, gold and treasure worth several million dollars. He had cancer and wanted someone else to have his riches. He wrote a book called Thrill of the Chase. In it was a poem containing clues to the treasurers location. I didn't really care about this until one day! A detective from New York City had read the poem with the clues to where the treasure was buried. He was quite interested and came to New Mexico to look for it. Following the clues he looked up every person who had the name of Brown in Santa Fe. He had no luck looking for it. On his way to the airport he stopped in at my Trading Post and home. He stood there for a second and read the sign "Home of Todd & Patricia Brown". He walked in and showed me the clues from the poem. I stood there and looked at him and said, " I know where all these clues are". We went looking. I found an empty hole. Probably where it was buried. The person who had buried the treasure got cured from his cancer and must have dug it up. I did find it. It was just too late! Look it up - Forest Fenn's Treasure. T. Brown"

I would think twice before dismissing what could possibly become of paramount importance to the TTOTC - Cerrillos,NM is quite a destination, IMHO, and should not be overlooked by any stretch:
I remain fascinated with the "Noon Analemma Sundial" and Cerrillos Hills Park in general a long with individuals and several other connections I've found in and around the area.
Take your time, look around and enjoy.

"Thick white clouds banked the mountains from peak to base, blotting out every scar and tor as a sponge might wash a slate. Valleys lay blanketed in smoking mist. As the sun cam gradually up to the horizon far away east behind the mountains, scarp and pinnacle butted through the fog, stood out bodily from the mist, seemed to move like living giants from the cloud banks. "However could they do that if they were not alive?" asked the Indian. Elsewhere, shadows came from sun, moon starlight, or campfire. But in these valleys were pencilled shadows of peaks upside down, green Alpine lakes, hours and hours before any sun had risen to cause the shadows. All this meant "bad medicine" to the Indian, or, in white man's language, mystery." - by A. C. Laut Beautifully written.

Never can tell...... however, one could have a better chance via the good folks on the Cerrillos Hill Park Coalition Board. ( I sort of doubt it, though.)

He emailed me back! I know the story isn't true but I wanted to find out where he saw the dug up hole. Patircia Brown said "To the top of Devils Throne, 1 mile west of Cerrillos". I wonder why it's called Devils Throne?
Okay there is something weird going on about The Galisteo and Cerrillos. Take a look pg. 9 of TTOTC book. Look at picture of FF signing the book with the caption Signing at the turquoise mine. Use a magnify class and look at what book FF is signing. Does FF have a book called Galisteo and Cerillos New Mexico?
Also there is a photographic studio in Santa Fe and a linked name W. Henry Brown and George C. Bennett (Galisteo and Cerillos). Quake Lake memorial has names of some of the victims from the Bennett family on the bronze plague that is attached to the huge rock that fell.

Thank you for the edits, drpepperwood!
An historical look back into the mines in and around Cerrillos, NM offer some great reading that you might appreciate - I'm listing a link that includes some info on "The Tiffany Mine." Lots to 'see.'
* Surrounding areas located around Mines in general can also provide some additional and useful information.
