I'm curious about the "Border's Bookstore" Forrest mentions in TTOTC. Does anyone know which Border's bookstore he visited? From my research there was one at 3513 Zafarano Drive and the other one was at 500 Montezuma Avenue.
I'm sure you all know that Border's bookstores announced in Feb 2011 they were filing for Chapter 11. By July of that year they switched to Chapter 7 and began liquidating its remaining stores. Doesn't really matter since the book came out in 2010 before they went out of business. I just wanted more of a feel for it. I would imagine if he went to Border's it would have been the one closest to his house and went to the one on Montezuma Ave.
Thoughts?

jonwh25, Welcome!!
I feel that the key word here is 'Borders' but not necessarily as a bookstore.

Border’s with an apostrophe S or borders without. I think when Fenn is inconsistent with a particular word, that’s a word we should pay attention to.

No doubt in my mind about that, Heidini.

Yes after reading the book several times I took Boarders to mean the actual boarders of the states and such. Boarders around West Yellowstone, BLM, Tribal Land, private land and such. Or it can just mean a bookstore. He does mention that he didn't understand why pp would read the books at the store and put it back on the shelf without paying for it. He said books stores need to make a living too.
Then the mention of all the books he picked up and describing their sizes and contents. When I am walking around in a bookstore I see shelves all over and books divided in their own sections. Shelves and geography? A continental shelf is a portion of a continent that is submerged under an area of relatively shallow water (or crossing a ford) known as a shelf sea. Much of the shelves were exposed during glacial periods and interglacial periods.
Standing inline and describing the activity around him.
Mention of the little girl with the braids swinging back and forth like they had a purpose. Braided rivers and the rushing moving water swinging, swaying around the bends like they have a purpose. The purpose to shape the land and nurturing it.
One thing to keep in mind is to read the book like if you didn't know anything about the clues that FF has given out throughout the years. Then your mind is fresh and your own imagination starts rolling. Like shelves possibly meaning continental divide. The braided rivers and the movement of the waters.

Well if it is below the border and edge of Brown than that would narrow it down.

For some reason, I always thought that the girl at the bookstore was Sacagewea. I'm not sure why - maybe the braids....but regardless of who she might be, why did the cup nearly cover her face?

Maybe it is to represent excessive consumerism. Everything now is super sized. A cup of coffee is actually supposed to be 6 ounces- not 14.

A 'veil' or a covering of some type. "When I have passed this vale." A few other possibilities.

That's an interesting thought. No-one has talked about it in a while, but the 109/43 coordinates are awful close to her grave.

That's an interesting thought. No-one has talked about it in a while, but the 109/43 coordinates are awful close to her grave. It wouldn't surprise me if WWWH is coordinates. I came up with an idea and presented it under WWWH possibilities. I have some interesting thoughts. Take a look and let me know what you think?
