I'm guessing that these coins will some day be very valuable.
Jenny, what's with the silver you mentioned? Will some coins be gold but most be silver?

I'm guessing that these coins will some day be very valuable. Jenny, what's with the silver you mentioned? Will some coins be gold but most be silver? Some silver coins have been created based from the original Forrest Fenn copper searcher coins. They will be hidden in the Rockies (and other places too) The Forrest Fenn Gold Medallions will be newly designed and mostly hidden in the Appalachians. It will be awesome to have some East Coast Fun! I want to thank you all for your enthusiasm and support for this exciting project. The clues for the Gold Medallions will be freely posted on Dal’s and My site, and it is your choice whether you want to search for them or not. We are creating the hunts to bring together and inspire the community (from coast to coast and beyond). PLUS --it is what MW does……over the last few years, MW has given thousands of dollars away via the MW Philosopher’s Stones hunts, The Ring of Old treasure hunt, The Sacred Scarab hunt, GiveAways, the Tap4Treasure hunts, and other prizes of games. Like just today we gave away an Old Coin from the Admiral Gardner which was shipwrecked in 1809--with the fun card game of LOOT! It is a beautiful coin/treasure! I was planning to launch MW Treasure Medallion hunts in November which I announced in the MW Newsletter a few weeks ago. Some of them are/were to be hidden in the Appalachians. But these hunts have been postponed to create the Forrest Fenn Gold Medallion Hunts with Dal. However, there is still the MW Forgotten Word treasure hunt in the my book to solve. That is worth $500 cash to the first person who solves it. As some of you may know, the MW website was inspired from my treasure hunting endeavors since 2004/5. The Forrest Fenn Treasure Hunt, and all that it is, is a natural extension, but only part of what MW is all about. I love the chase... all chases... always have and always will..... Plus I love serving and inspiring the treasure hunting community.... More details on the hunts will be forthcoming.... the design contest for the FFGM starts later in November... Thanks again all!

The Fenn name looms large in that part of the country. ( Major Frank Fenn once offered 1,600,000 acres of land to the government to establish the Appalachian National Forest.)
A couple of other areas that appear interesting:
Cumberland Gap:
Suzanne Somers ski chalet. (It seems she skis in the Appalachians!)
*The Appalachian Trail runs from Maine to Georgia.
This search for the Fenn Gold Medallions could well attract a large number of new and old searchers. Gotta love that!!

Jenny, one of the questions I have that you may be able to answer: Are the coins going to be numbered, and if so does the number have to be along an edge? Space required?

Jenny, one of the questions I have that you may be able to answer: Are the coins going to be numbered, and if so does the number have to be along an edge? Space required? They will NOT be numbered, as Dal and I would like them each to be seen as holding the same value. However, they will hold a code just to confirm which one was found... so a small space on the design will be required for this.
