I've just been listening to old interviews and reading old blog posts this morning. I think there's something more to be learned from the early days of the chase than from the current cacophony of post and ideas that are floating around. I've just been wondering - how hard is it REALLY - and where might the answer lie?
Much like I've thought that the middle rocky mountains was the clue for "Me in the Middle" - I also think that the answer may lie "in the middle"...difficult, but not impossibly....simplify, but don't over simplify...don't overthink....or over-complicate....seems like this is a difficult place for us to arrive at mentally.
I've also been mulling over the many contradictions along these lines:
"You over simplify the clues. Look at the big picture. There are no shortcuts."
"Well I will give you a clue - try to simplify if you can. That's good advice."
"everything about my poem and my book is straightforward."
"Everything in the chest is straight forward and visual..."
"The poem is straight forward with no subterfuge in sight."
"The treasure is not easy to find, but it certainly isn't impossible."
Posts that don't seem to help frustrate me...I think we'll only find it if we share - and I appreciate what KPro and Cow are doing - bringing in others that will at least talk about meaningful things.
That said, I'll put something out there that I recently found - that might be a confirmation on the 109/43 theory.
Pull up the exact coordinates for 109/43 in google maps, and have a look at the PLUS CODE for that exact spot. Want to know what it is? I'll tell you:
2222-22 Fort Washakie, WY
I like Ft. Washakie - the former "Camp Brown". Generally, I prefer places that are on old maps that aren't on any current map...I'll give you two more - that some of you probably already know. Wise, WY and Pease County, WY. Are those rabbit holes? You tell me.
Do you think that's a coincidence? Maybe. But stuff like this will keep you looking. I just hope that it's found - and it would be even cooler if any of my ideas were part of the complete solve. I could talk about Valle Caldera - but that's not in the middle, so I'll save that for another time.
Happy hunting!
