Forrest talks about his mom making pie, broken pie, pie at the restaurant he worked at. What about Proto Indo-European (PIE) word origin? Also a source of etymology like greek, Latin, Slavic, etc. Forrest mentioned people using words that they don’t know where they came from. The PIE origin is very interesting to me. Little girl from India anyone? 3.14 doesn’t seem to be a path for me.

Looks like we are on the same wavelength for tonight's thinking with PIE. I have been looking into the different etymologies of words in poem and hints ff has given over the years. I have also been looking into how the meanings have evolved or meanings in other languages as well. The 3.14 pi has at least a thousand rabbit holes to jump into (Thousand is way on the low side for me). The whole Universe and everything in it relates to it 1 way or another.

A few years back I watched a movie about Madhava and how numbers and complex math equations were in his dreams. Below is a Wiki link for quick read. I haven't read the entire wiki page yet but if memory serves me correct this may help tie in the little girl from India. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madhava_of_Sangamagrama

pi was a rabbit hole for me too, but I am wary not to discard the thought. PIE etymology works in many different ways, and a pie is round.

I keep thinking about how Forrest always says he does his best thinking between 7 and 8 AM. And I’m thinking of course about hands on a clock. That also would be a pie shape. And I think of pineapple. Whenever my mom did her pineapple it was always pineapple upside down cake. I’ve never heard of pineapple pie before the chase. But of course there’s lots of things I haven’t heard of before the Chase! LOL!

I think this was when he was slipping Nichols under some stone.

The written word "pie" is only a small hint, in my opinion.
