Is this just my confirmation bias manifesting?
WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS THERE WILL YOUR HEART BE ALSO
The answer to the riddle is CHEST.
CHEST is also the 34th word in the Fenn's introduction. 34 is the magic square number for the "Thrill of the chase" scramble puzzle.
Coincidence?

Sorry, but I still don't get what is the deal with page 10. Should I look to the Masquerade puzzle zap or something from that chapter. I literally JUST figured out page 10 after reading your question. You can get this. It is self contained. If you don't get it by tomorrow, I'll try to get back to you with a clue. Thanks! Just got it too. Weird when the easy ones trip you up. I mean for me they all do, but still...

TOC - WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS THERE WILL YOUR HEART BE ALSO - Thanks for the tips about imperfect Caesar shift and "Where" start Pg.7 - Embrace the unknown. It is only there you will find your treasure. - Vigenere key - ARMCHAIRTREASUREHUNTS I got lucky on that one trying "TREASURE" key which decrypted to a semi-readable "Lmjtpiv ghe unknowb. Lc bs unth jdmqd yob xycx slwd zkll bhapsjiq". From there I used trial and error to find the key for letters T( he) and ( unknow)N : "AAAAAAARTREASUREH" and so on and so forth. PS Seeing Jenny's latest comment about people missing Vigenere Clues for deciphering Special Words, perhaps this will help us somehow. This is called "crib dragging". It is a standard cryptographic technique. Unfortunately, figuring out a single word in the keyphrase is no slam dunk because it yields letters that are widely distributed in the final message. In other words, no confirmation. I can crib-fit lots of words into Jenny's message that score fantastically as far as matching English, but it means nothing.

Also this makes some sense for the 34 magic square bit and the Intro. Yet Chest doesn't work as the Vigenere key phrase. There has to be something else. But that is definitely an interesting observation that we should keep in mind.

I still have no idea what the key word/phrase is for 54. Seagull or gull or bird or fly or wing or everything else I can think of that goes with the picture.

I'd give you a hint, but I'm on travel without the book, so I don't know which puzzle you're referring to.

Thank you! I'm guessing we still don't have the tree shaped puzzle on Page 16? Did anyone get that one?

Is the picture on 25 a puzzle for us? It's the one that starts with the word "WET"... And, no, I haven't figured out the puzzle on 16 yet.
