For those who might be totally new to The Secret treasure hunts, this treasure hunt, Tribute ~ The Hunt for the 13th Casque, honors the past Byron Preiss and his original hunt, The Secret, which was created back in 1982. 12 casques were buried, and only two have ever been found in that hunt. This hunt is for an additional casque: The 13th. There have been Excellent articles written on MW by contributors, John Michaels, who has created this 13th hunt, and Dustin White, who is an active treasure hunter of The Secret Casques, which offer a background and history. The Tribute Hunt incorporates and pays homage to many items of the original 12. Learning about those will help understand more of this hunt. For those interested please learn more about them in the following articles: A Beginner's Guide to The SecretThe Secret Armchair Treasure Hunt, The Secret Podcast, and the End of an Era

I didn't realize I was responsible for sparking interest in the book over on the Q4T forums. I honestly don't remember who pointed me to the hunt in the first place! To set the record straight, however, my screen nick is always spelled all lowercase. Can the article be amended?
(after digging into the oldest posts on Quest4Treasure)... I'll only take credit for splitting out the organizational threads, but others were posting there before I even got a copy of the book for myself. The Q4T admin Mark Parry really boosted the revitalized discussions by posting scans of the images. I feel funny being singled out, but thank you for the article.

Hey catherwood!
I searched Q4T for the first posts about The Secret and your postings were the earliest I could find but thanks to Mark as well then! Without the work done there, The Secret wouldn't be nearly as visual as it is today and a lot of us wouldn't know much about it. We owe you guys a lot! Thank you!!

“Look, your grace,” responded Sancho, “what you see over there aren't giants—they're windmills; and what seems to be arms are the sails that rotate the millstone when they're turned by the wind.”

"....we reached the country of the Lotus-eaters, a race that eat the flowery Lotus fruit....Now these natives had no intention of killing my comrades; what they did was to give them some Lotus to taste. Those who ate the honeyed fruit of the plant lost any wish to come back and bring us news. All they now wanted was to stay where they were with the Lotus-eaters, to browse on the Lotus, and to forget all thoughts of return..."
