aquatic pier lamppost? If that thing is a lamppost it fits nearly every lamppost in the city. But it has a lever sticking out of its bottom right base corner. These puzzles are simple. It’s a cable car. The question is whether or not we cross a cable car path/station on the walking path

how about this. is date ok june 21, 1981, 6pm. shadows are 18.94 m. Please please please please understand that there is 0 chance shadows are used. I’m not trying to be overly dismissive but San Francisco is notoriously overcast and foggy. Priess would have been a total dick to have used shadows in any puzzle but especially San Francisco. Remember, he didn’t just visit for one week during the summer - he went to graduate school nearby and met his future wife here if I’m not mistaken. I repeat. If he used sun/shadows to navigate for this puzzle (or any) I will eat my own boot

Can you elaborate more on how the other three jewels were presented and the relevance to their locations? No problem!
Lets look at them in the order they were found: Chicago - notice the emerald is below the earing on a somewhat green background? I think this indicated that the casque was buried in a grassy area, south of the Loop in Chicago. Cleveland - notice the aquamarine is completely encased in a grey square? This matches the planter box it was found in at the Greek Cultural Gardens. Boston- notice the peridot is being held on an angle on a black background. This matches a baseball diamond at the site of the Great Molasses Flood.
Honestly the images may even contain the name of the place the casque is buried. Lets examine this theory: Chicago - the troll looks an awful lot like President Grant, so Grant Park. Cleveland - the stone pillars are clearly Greek, so Greek Cultural Gardens. Boston - the pigs head (Pua) combined with the polo stick for Puopolo Park.
For San Francisco, the Litany of the Jewels describes the pearl as chaste. Who is the most chaste person...the virgin Mary. Next you have a watch or clock on the table...so that gives you time. If you make the argument that it is Mary in Image 1 and you combine the two, you get Mary-time...so Maritime Park!
About the first part with the burial surroundings - that’s actually freaking brilliant. Whether or not it holds we shall see. Looking at the pearl....it gives me all kinds of crazy ideas. As far as maritime goes, I’ve seen people try to push this rebus a lot. The Litany of Jewels is meant to refer to the city, I think BP was consistent in this. Chaste, in this nuance of poetic verse, is simply meant to mean “pure and unadulterated”, and the clock is to designate the month. I know it’s fun to come up with this stuff, and I’m going to bet I’ve shot down an idea that’s 100% intentionally placed by Bp or the artist. But I just can’t help but take the artist at his word. We are over complicating things. These puzzles were technically meant for children to be able to enjoy. Everything in the poems can be quite literal. Chicago and Cleveland are EXTREMELY direct once you know where to start.

Just had another thought about "ace is high". In addition to there having been a casino at Maritime Park, how about a euchre reference? Generally in euchre, ace is high and the only thing that can beat an ace are your 2 bowers right? Well those 2 large anchors out in front of the museum are known as "Bower" anchors according to the accompanying plaque!

A couple of questions about page 128: "How do I look from the back?" Is this a suggestion to look behind Gh or something else? Alibi Elf helped New Hampshire's Dan Webster; Webster's legal office was in Portsmouth. Is this a hint?

A couple of questions about page 128: "How do I look from the back?" Is this a suggestion to look behind Gh or something else? Alibi Elf helped New Hampshire's Dan Webster; Webster's legal office was in Portsmouth. Is this a hint? I don't know if any of the writing in that part of the book has any value? The pictures certainly do, as was proven with the Mira Chimera tail and wing matches!
If you want to pursue this angle the only thing I've got on Webster is that he was born in Franklin NH and Franklin Street in San Francisco is very close to Maritime Park.
Not sure about "look from the back", but still feel taking a mirror to Image 1 will help as the piers represented by her right hand are upside down. I think its the same story with Mira Chimera as the tail and wings don't align correctly with Aquatic Pier and the bleachers to the west of the museum, but place a mirror between them and then it looks right?
Lets not forget what a chimera is: an illusion or fabrication of the mind

Did I read that even if you decide on a dig spot, you can't get the permission to dig until spring or summer? Seems like I read it on Facebook. June 2020.

So I found something interesting about Portsmouth...the USS Pampanito, which is at Maritime Park was built in Portsmouth!
If you look at the left shoulder of the figure in Image 1 do you see the number 838? The reason I ask is that the Pampanito was also known as SS-383! Another thinly veiled clue?

That's the only park I'm aware that is issuing dig permits, but since the casque isn't there why even bother?
I know Linda Spaulding tried to get a permit for Aquatic/Maritime Park, but thought she was turned down due to it being NPS land?

Yes, Golden Gate Park. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. The cask is not in Golden Gate Park, and if it is, it was destroyed.

I think the 883 in the blue circles over her shoulder is another case of seeing what you'r looking for that is not there. Just round circles like water or Hydrangea blooms. Also GGP limited the number of dig permits they issue to 2 a week so there's a rush to reserve spots for future possible solves. 9 month waiting last time I heard.

Its northern origin is about two blocks west from the three piers you aligned with the right hand's fingers.
