the secret is read the poem, as a poem, not the lines, then use the image as your map. but most of all remember that this is childs book, never intended for adults, so think simple like a child.. KISS...keep it simple searchers..thats what i did and it changed my view of my solve, brought me to an entirely diffrent part of the city, hell i have spent more than 10 years all over GGP, parking lots, lands end, totem poles, drakes cross, goya boat, edmund monument, strawberry hill and nothing has ever matched like it did once i read the poem and book and thought like a 12 year old.. good luck all

I have a theory for GGP. The park officials liked it enough to go out into the field to probe for it. They were actually in the field about to do it when the covid-infected cruise ship showed up off the coast and they had to understandably change plans.

Since Image 1 is the 1st image in the book perhaps there's more to it than just the puzzle for San Francisco. Looking at the 12 "moons" I propose they actually may be ball pins on a macro (US) map. I'll explain: Lets say the pearl is the pin location of San Francisco. Since it's the smallest of them then perhaps it indicates the farthest from the "base" or NYC. Notice there are 5 pins north of the east/west line and 5 down south. I labeled the pins with the cities' distance from NYC. This may be a 3D representation so does not line up on a 2D map (convenient excuse!). I encourage and welcome other theories.

The Pearl has too much of a “Brassy colour to be just a pearl.... more like a bullet

The reconstructed image I used (brighter and prettier!) is to show the obvious globes positions and not to zoom in for details. Since the reconstructed images are heavily manipulated they can not be trusted for "zoom" work. Below is the actual scan of the book that is much closer to what the artist intended. Notice the globe doesn't look like layers of circles and the blue halo around the globe is hexagon and not round.

I still think it looks like a bullet. Would be nice to see the original art work. “Pearl” located in the right spot for the bullet, ( no strings attached). JFKs motorcade turned off of Houston Street onto Elm st. ( Houston tie in?) It would be nice if JJP or someone could post images of the paintings themselves in a higher resolution like 4K , ( like the Tribute image), bad online and reproduction images are probably causing clues to be missed.

Choice, that is a pretty clear photo of the rock formation. Is that a “P” and a “H” in the rocks just to the left of her head?

Just thinking. Is there a second common theme to the 12 puzzles? JJP said that we were missing something that ties it all together.Certainly you have immigration but how about presidents ,war/ war hero’s and or religion? Chicago , you have Grant,( Grant Park), a General/ war and president. Lincoln a president and Civil war as well as Roosevelt, a president and tied to WW2
Cleveland the painting depicts a WW2 war helmet ( probably dedicated to the immigration of WW2 refugees)and also Cleveland a president.
Boston you have the USS Constitution for war and the Old North Church for religion, and Paul Revere ( second lieutenant who fought in the French Indian war and a silver smith). Three of his daughters married into the Abraham Lincoln family as well three of his grandsons fought in the civil war.
Charleston,it mentions White House ( aka presidential) even if it refers to a different White House , also the location of the start of the Civil war ( Fort Sumter). Canons involved in the casque location
New York you have JFK ( of hard word 3 vols.),(another president) dedication of the war memorial at Battery park
St. Augustine, Ponce de Leon ( Spanish warrior and leader of the expedition). Large cross near by the fountain of youth
Roanok island, Battles with the indigenous . First attempt of settlement by Sir Walter Raleigh ( a Soldier and leader who also fought in a religious war).
Quebec City, Battle on the Plains of Abraham between Montcalm and Wolfe both generals and leaders and Joan of Arc who was a Saint( religion) and warrior
Houston, you have Sam Houston who was a General
New Orleans, Another president Andrew Jackson ( a General) involved in the Battle of New Orleans between the French and English
San Francisco, you have JFK drive plays a part in the location and the Drake cross for religion and warrior
Milwaukee , you have Lincoln drive that goes by Lake park
There is one common thing for sure and that is each of those US casque locations is that there is a USS war ship named after the city.
Also of interest is Lincoln’s Gettysburg address. The fact that it parallels the “ Pericles funeral Oration” during the Peloponnesian war as described by Thucydides ( Boston tie in somehow?) So just some thoughts to ponder on. GLTA
