A post on Richard E. Saunier's blog ( link) under the name Forrwst Fenn: "Since Richard mentioned the olden days lets harken to 1620 when universal land measures first became law in England and America. As you rode your horse into town you had to pass 80 telephone poles in order to reach a mile because they were 1 chain apart, or 66 feet. And each chain had 100 links, ifyou wanted to break it down further. Road rights-of-way also were 1 chain wide. And 80 square chains made a square mile, or 640 acres – and that was 1 section of land. But if you’d rather count fence posts you had to pass 320 in order to reach a mile because they were a rod apart, or 16.5 feet. And since everyone knew that an acre was 10 square chains (43,560 square feet) it was easy to tell how many acres were in your neighbor’s farm. Some aspects of those measures are still in use today in the horse racing business because a furlong is 10 chains in length, or 660 feet. You should feel smarter now because that’s so easy. If you want to apply those important figures into the thrill of the chase I will give you an additional clue. The Treasure chest full of gold and precious jewels is more than 66,000 links north of Santa Fe."
Stopping mid-sentence after "And each chain had 100 links, if" Forrest hit <enter> and finished the statement on the following line. He then hit <enter> again after "Road rights-of-way also were 1 chain wide." Doing so created the paragraph acrostic: I say BS.

Chain is used as the measure of the rate of spread of wildfires (chains per hour). Capital letters from the body of the Forrwst Fenn post: Fe America Richard Santa I Treasure England www.firelab.org/project/farsite

Repeat of links to miles math:
1 chain = 100 links 66000 links = 660 chains (66,000 ÷ 100) 1 chain = 66 feet 660 chains = 43560 feet (660 x 66) = 8.25 miles
Side: 43560 is the square footage of an acre

Forrest wants his 22-bead bracelet returned.
Bead is a distance.
1 bead = 10 paces 1 pace = 30 inches 1 bead = 300 inches (10 x 30) 22 beads = 6600 inches

So then, Scrapbook 220: 66000 inches?

What if Forrest was referring to links differently. A rail link perhaps, currently 78 ft in length. Doing the math on that would put the treasure 66000*78' north of Santa Fe, 5,148,000 ft or divided by 5280 feet in a mile = 975 miles. Older track are half that so 487.5 miles if it is an older track.
Not saying this is correct but Forrest did refer to trains quite a bit.

What if 8.25 was to scale on some part of the solve at the end. I worked on the Zodiac Teaching Wheel at the end of my solution. I downloaded it and printed it out as big as the printer would allow. When I measured it from its circumference to the center it was exactly 8.25 cm.

Forrest telling the truth just not the whole truth. Cody Wyoming is more than 8.25 miles north if Sante fe..... UXU Ranch 16 miles east of YNP and west of Cody Wy. Note "June" Creek runs through UXU Ranch. His sisters name is June. He told one searcher to go in June. The Chest was found in June. A steel bridge connects Ranch to rest of world. Forrest would steal away to that place... Look on rock ledge in June Creek in the cottonwood trees at June Creek and North Shoshone River at foot of Bridge..
