I saw if you pay extra, you can get the lyrics, which is really where the clues are. I guess that saves you time from straining to listen and then writing out the words.
But then I saw that you can get a 15 minute skype call with the author/musician to ask questions. THAT is a HUGE turn-off for me. I don't care for the idea of those who have more money to spend, can ask private questions.
I understand the need to make money for the prize pool, but as far as I'm concerned, that doesn't keep it a level playing field.
I try to support almost ALL of the treasure hunts that come along by purchasing them and participating in them. I was excited to find out about a music-based hunt, but after reading the details, I think I am going to skip this one.

Thanks Jenny... I really appreciate the interview, and love the write up.
GeneticBlend: It is not a skype call to give out extra clues. Anytime I decide to give out a hint.. it will be publicly on my site, youtube, and here on this thread. The purpose of the skype call is comparable to a "drop" (music world) or "autograph" type thing. I have gotten emails from fans of my music over the years wanting to talk, discuss music, give them a shoutout/drop (ex: Hi.. this is Born Talent and I am listening to my buddy (enter name) on so and so station), ask non-specific questions such as Jenny did in the interview, etc.. It's a way to give back while also earning more money for the prize pot. I am not giving out any clue specific hints. If anything, being on this forum would be more of an advantage as I see you guys often ask questions of authors... and I will be on here. Again, I will never answer something "specific" to a clue, but if someone asks something that I feel should be said .. I will post up here and publicly.
PS: This is my first hunt.. so if this is something someone else brings up... I'm more than open to eliminating that option. But be assured, I would never give someone a hint that I would not share with everyone. I want a completely even playing field.

From a treasure hunter's perspective, I think removing that option was probably a good move. Hunters would be suspicious of any private conversations that were "bought". You would just be setting yourself up for disaster.
