Klarifications = updates and notifications of unintended roadblocks and red-herrings, to try to minimize people wasting time on things that reasonably could produce kodewords but in fact do not.
Klarifications will be released as needed but hopefully rarely going forward, similar to Q&A.
Kryptic Advice (KA) = advice to nudge participants in the right directions to find other kodewords.
The next KA will be released on Friday 12/13. My plan after that is to release KA on the first and third Fridays of the month until both prizes have been claimed.
KA will be released with the intent of trying to help everyone equally as much as possible. To do this, each KA post may have a semi-sizeable number of different hints to try to help different participants at different places.
Explanation:
Based on the facebook poll, most people want KA every one-to-two weeks. I've decided to release KA twice a month so most trips, final-exam weeks, etc., won't completely prevent a participant from being able to find time to work on one set of KA before the next one comes out.
I also worried about dribbling hints out weekly as then probably some week's hints would only help some while other week's hints would only help others. I'd rather try to help everybody at the same time.
To try to help everyone equally, some hints in a KA post may be for things you're stuck on, some hints may be for things you've already solved but that others are stuck on, and some hints may be for things you don't even understand but are for folks farther along than you are.
