"Blanefield" is an anagram of "bald feline". A "bald feline is a "sphynx" cat. The sphinx is associated with a riddle. Since Blanefield/Netherton may be equated with both Forrest Fenn and a sphinx, it might be considered that the answer to Forrest Fenns riddle is Blanefield. Some more notes:
Weekly words for November 11th, 2016 are as follows:
*Success is an omniscient guru. f
“That’s where Moses received the Ten Commandments,” Leo said, and he spoke like some kind of omniscient religious guru."
"Omniscient guru, the doctors say I have galloping tuberculosis! They give me no longer than three months...."
"Master then sat sphinx like in an unrelenting ...."
From this tale apparently grew the legend that the sphinx was omniscient, and even today the wisdom of the sphinx is proverbial.
Success is an Omniscient guru -> Success is like sphinx -> Success is sphynx cat -> Success is bald feline -> Success is Blanefield

I think Forrest zodiac sign is Leo; maybe even the cusp of Leo? Some years ago, I was taking the family on a last-minute trip to Ocean City Maryland. The only place we could Find to stay was the Fenwick Inn. We got there and parked I looked across the main street and it was a place named Leo’s. ....... There was a Fennebresque at Dahlman Rose investment group. I think he left about the time Forrest and Dal became friends.

Hi Astree: I paid many childhood visits to Ocean City. (Our family had a house in Rehoboth.) There was some iconic seafood place there (the name escapes me--haven't been in over 30 years--perhaps The Captain's Table?) that served the famous Chesapeake-area blue crab as well as the more usual fare. I recall driving through Fenwick Island to get there--a Chase relevant name if ever there was one!

. I bet that youve got a lot of good memories. The areas you mention are beautiful (and theres an Indian River around there).
I seem to remember Captains Table. Now, theres a hangout called Seacrets, almost a Chase name. I dont get the impression that you live around there anymore?

Hi Astree: no, I moved to the west coast in the mid-80s right after college. Still have family on the DelMarVa peninsula, but it's been years since I visited. (Checked out Dogfish Head in Milton during my last visit: good brewery.)
Surfed Indian River Inlet as a teen: that was the closest decent break to Rehoboth.

Some time ago, forrest referred to a gut feeling that the chest would be found in summer. Later he said that his gut feeling was wavering when I asked if he still thought it would be found by then. Now forest is referring to getting down during the coronavirus in his latest scrapbook 249 Comment by Forrest after Dal asks about '“We worked our way through them by banding together and gutting down.” Is anyone here familiar with the phrase “gutting down”? That’s a new one to me…. Forrest Fenn on March 18, 2020 at 8:04 pm said: I don’t know what that phrase means either but it seemed like a good one to use at the time. Maybe it means that everyone should do the very best they can and it will all work out. f Reply ↓ What i find very interesting is that shortly after the scrapbook 249 was published, CNN had this, with ‘gutted’ in quotes Kathy Griffin says she is 'gutted' as she shares that her mother has died www.cnn.com/2020/03/18/entertainment/kathy-griffin-mother-died-trnd/index.html

You gut fish as far as I can deduce. Gut-a-d. Good-idea. Gutted.
My experience is F never says out of place things without there being a vague reference to a clue or the chase somehow.

I liked the idea thrown out on THOR that Forrest was doubling down on his gut feeling from several years ago. ;-)
"Things are tough DOWN town and around the country, so my family is hunkered DOWN with books aplenty."
"...willows were turning GREEN on the limb ends and our daffodils WERE YELLOW with long, GREEN stems."
Green means go -- yellow means caution. Conditions are just about good to go, things "smell like promise," and that's why Forrest is "so optimistic about the future."

Nice find Astree! In The Codex Max was the Forrest character's name and Hauser was the "bad guy" and ex-partner of Max. Interesting the creator of this hunt's name was Hauser and he used the pseudonym Max. The hunt is real but you are correct, someone could've added Forrest's name to Wiki. I'll keep digging...

Thanks Goldie. I’m very curious about this. This reminds me of Forrests Valentine comment about “try to marry the two”, where the two married to itself, it’s reflection gives a heart. I noticed that in the desktop version of Wikipedia at the top of the page there is a tab for history of the article. I think that should be searchable to see when FB Fenn was first added to the article. edit: ok, From the article history as recently as 8:48 on April 16, 2020, the reference to FB Fenn was not in the article en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=On_the_Trail_of_the_Golden_Owl&oldid=951263061looks like a prank, no citation supporting the statement that Fenn collaborated.

Maybe Jenny could ask Forrest for us since she covers all sorts of treasure hunts on this site and may want to add it 😊
