If you've been wise and found the blaze.......
This line begins the 4th stanza:
As I have gone alone in there And with my treasures bold, I can keep my secret where, And hint of riches new and old.
Begin it where warm waters halt And take it in the canyon down, Not far, but too far to walk. Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it’s no place for the meek, The end is ever drawing nigh; There’ll be no paddle up your creek, Just heavy loads and water high.
If you’ve been wise and found the blaze, Look quickly down, your quest to cease, .........
It suggests we have to look for the Blaze.... it's possible we begin looking for it once we put Boots on the Ground.....for myself, that begins in the 'No place for the meek' and the lines between describe/confirm where I'm walking (and of the area this Blaze will be found)....(it's in a place where the end is ever drawing nigh, no paddle up your creek, heavy loads and water high)...
In this scenario, it is the finding of the Blaze only that puts us within several steps of the treasure chest....

I theorize, and don't get mad anyone, because I am really going to have to go out on a limb here, but what if Forrest blaze had something to do with trees. Yeah trees, oxygen making, bird living, Forrest fire burning(blaze), trees. How much would it surprise everyone if trees had something to do with this. They bring life, dropped an apple on Newton's head, you can sit under them and read(so ttoc pages don't blind you), climb them to hide from bears. Just theorizing here today.

In the "nobody is gonna happen on that chest" thread Jenny raised the concern that trees may not stand the test of time. This is my response: In a general sense that is true however larch trees have a very long life and the bark is also fire resistant from what I've researched... crownofthecontinent.natgeotourism.com/content/gus-worlds-largest-larch-tree/cot50caf093bd65f401b

If the blaze is “anything that stands out”, why do we have to be “wise” to find it?
Maybe “wise” means: -wise = sage = sage brush -wise like an owl, and we need to turn our head 180 degrees -wise = based on experience & understanding, so it’s something that we might have seen in “The Thrill of the Chase”
Just a few thoughts...

I believe you have to be "wise" because the blaze has a very interesting piece of history that coincides with the object itself. Without knowing this one historical fact that has a tie to the poem, it's just an object that stands out that is not "feasible" to remove.

There is no direct Bison correlation to the blaze in my solve. I’m certain others have found the same WWWH and HOB but missed the correct blaze.

The poem line- If you've been wise and found the blaze- Could just mean....if you've been wise (if you have followed all the clues)....and found the Blaze (once you followed the clues, you will see the Blaze).... then...
look quickly down and get the chest....

Wise definitely means sagebrush. He's used those terms interchangeably for a reason. Plus in on of the interviews (can't remember which one) he said if he was a kid and heard about this treasure hunt, he would be looking under every bush in America. Now I could see him saying he would be digging up holes or looking under every rock, but who thinks bushes when thinking about hidden treasure? Has there ever been a famous treasure that was hidden under a bush? I doubt it.

I 💯% agree it has to do with trees and I will also go as far as saying that the Blaze is the word “IF” not how you read it but say it. F is the Blaze and believe the Blaze it has a color. And what color would be a blaze. Read the chapter Divorcing Logic. That is your Blaze.

We don’t have sagebrush here. Is it a nice smell or a strange smell? Does it smell like the herb? Sagebrush has a nice aroma that lasts a long time if you take a cutting home and let it dry. I used to put twigs in letters to clients hoping the smell will remind them, and lure them back to my art gallery. Please tell Italy hello. I love your country and its people. dalneitzel.com/2015/11/02/forrest-gets-mail-9/

Here is why you have to be wise to find it. There is number attached to being wise and also a word. The word is “IF”..... yes IF say it to yourself 50 or 100 times. Then think how Forrest signs off on everyone of his wuotes message emails etc...... IT is an “F” the Blaze is an F

Not saying it can't be under a bush....but they might not last for over 100 years or more...... so I feel the Blaze should be of a more permanent nature...
