“As I have gone alone IN THERE”......does this mean a dwelling place such as a cave? Most interpret it I assume to simply mean the woods or the journey, but we know every single word was carefully crafted and FF has repeatedly said people are overlooking obvious info within the poem. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Places one may go alone has been talked about...into a cockpit, a bathroom, his car, a bank, a library, into his imagination or memories, a hideaway...

“somewhere In the mountains north of Santa Fe”

Forrest has stated it is not in a mine, cave, or tunnel.
SeanNM's idea is certainly possible.... as we see in TTOTC, Forrest writes 'somewhere IN the mountains north of Santa Fe'...... so we know Forrest thinks that--- IN... THERE...
Again is it more specific?
I would like to think it is--
Gone IN THERE (mountains) with treasures Secret WHERE (more specific) hint of riches new and old (hints to the more specific area)

Regarding IN the mountains...
Valley of the Kings in Egypt where King Tut's tomb can be found is a collection of tombs cut into the mountainside so as to be concealed. Is it manmade if the outside structure is a mountain? I'm not sure...
val·ley (văl′ē) n. pl. val·leys 1. An elongated lowland between ranges of mountains, hills, or other uplands, often having a river or stream running along the bottom.
can·yon (kăn′yən) n. A narrow chasm with steep cliff walls, cut into the earth by running water; a gorge.

Who knows? It could mean he walked into home depot alone, with his treasures in a backpack, so he could buy a shovel to bury his treasure.

The point of the thread was to throw out ideas. I threw out the idea that "in there" might not be relevant. "In there" may not even be a physical location.

Those two words might not be important as an ingredient would be. Something else in that line might be more important. The words “in there” by themselves won’t reveal a more specific area than “in there”...imo. We know he went somewhere, hence that’s not important.

I think if you have a solution you know what in there is The poem provides a couple sensible geographic examples for "in there": In the canyon In the wood

NIgh; THERE’ll be...

I think alot of the keys to this huge puzzle is hidden in numbers and gematria. This is not bigger than marrying the poem to a map, but important in confirmation.
”As I have gone alone in there”
There = Three, I=F, F=6
3 x 6, 666
This hints heavily into Hermetic Kabbalism for those into that (rabbit hole?). Alone in there.
