The off season of the Thrill of the Chase offers many of us searchers the chance to go over our solutions for where we think Forrest Fenn’s Treasure Chest is hidden. We can review what Forrest is known to have said against our own thoughts. Does anything contradict where we are looking? Does anything support it? I decided to do that with the Australia May 2019 interview. Here are the highlights of what Forrest has said with some brief commentary (of which I will further elaborate in coming weeks) (and we are already doing here... appreciate you all here helping each other think things through) mysteriouswritings.com/highlights-of-the-australia-may-2019-interview-with-forrest-fenn-special-place-isolated-location-and-spot-in-the-sun/

Did something happen over the summer to change Forrest's mind on 'long time' and 'it's just a matter of time'
In article above:
Q)What would you like to happen if the treasure remains unfound?
Forrest’s A)I think somebody’s going to find the treasure – I don’t know when, but, if nobody ever finds it, you know as the decades go on, why eventually somebody’s going to find that treasure.
Q) What inspires you to keep the treasure hidden after all these years?
Forrest’s A): As opposed to going back to get it? Is that what he’s trying to say. Well, when I hid the treasure I had no intention of going back and getting it. I mean, it’s where I left it…it’s going to be there for a long time until somebody finds it. I hope somebody finds it.
My Commentary: In MW’s 2020 Questions, he mentions it will only be a matter of time. If this suggests, soon (and it might not), and since this interview was conducted in May, maybe the summer search season proved someone is close?
He ‘hopes’ someone finds it and uses the words, ‘long time’. Seems to contradict the previous question.
There seems to slight difference, albeit slight, with his tone/answer....

That's a good question Jenny. I wonder if someone who was close got off track, or dropped off the radar? I also really like the info about a place where a person wouldn't go...what kind of place might that be? It seems to suggest something more than "off trail" to me.

Where a person wouldn't go would be his quote of: Two hundred feet into the teeth of the Rockies. If you google "teeth in the Rocky's" and look at the images, it is a place where most would not go.

All, An interesting potential contradiction: If the place where the treasure chest is is an isolated location, a place people wouldn't normally go, then why did he feel lucky that no one was around there when he hid the treasure, no one any place? go to 18:40 of this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoWbwFZlTyASo maybe the question is: what kind of people would normally go to the place, location, region and/or general area that the treasure is hidden? I'm reminded of the page just prior to the first chapter in TTOTC. Seannm

How would you describe your goals when you first went public about the treasure? When I hid the treasure, this country was in a terrible recession. Too many people were losing their jobs. I wanted to give hope to those who had a sense of adventure and were willing to go searching. I also wanted to get the kids out of the game room and away from their texting machines, and out into the mountains and the sunshine. www.westword.com/news/forrest-fenn-on-death-of-randy-bilyeu-ongoing-hunt-for-2-million-treasure-8140159

IMO someone was close last summer, they didn’t understand the final clue/clues. I think they probably have it figured out now and is waiting patiently for spring. I am with you on that m! I believe that there is was a searcher who was/is close and was missing the KEY ingredient. Yep I believe you are correct .

When did he say this? thanks Q5)You have such a love for and fond memories of flying. Of all the flying you have done after the military, which was your favorite flight over the Rockies, as a pilot, and why? And which was your least favorite? A standout question Jenny. My favorite flights were those when I headed alone, and at 200 feet, into the teeth of the Rockies, not knowing, or caring, where I would land. My least favorites were the two occasions when I lost my engine and was fortunate to find runways to land on. mysteriouswritings.com/six-questions-with-forrest-fenn-and-the-thrill-of-the-chase-seven-is-a-perfect-number/He headed alone at 200 feet into the Rockies............. Note the word "and" after "alone" as he could of just wrote: When I headed alone at 200 feet into the Rockies. It exploits the alone word with the comma and "and.
