wanting to list times forrest has said too far to walk. when he uses that line it means he's too old. tired and weak. here's one- Forrest, I enjoyed my recent trip through southern Montana! Some part of me wants to get lost in the woods where just maybe, I can find myself spiritually. My question for you now is, if you got another chance to enjoy Yellowstone in your youth, is there anything there that you wanted to do but never got the chance to? -The Count Count, There are many things I want to do now that I didn’t do then. I want to fish every stream, catch every fish, sit under every tree, and hike the mountains I didn’t hike. And I would like to get lost in the Gallatins again. That was the best, but for me now, it’s too far to walk. f mysteriouswritings.com/featured-question-with-forrest-fenn-and-the-thrill-of-the-chase-lost-in-the-gallatins/

Forrest also say's it's "not far". There is something that is in everyone that s not far, but is too far for anyone to walk to.

After writing about fishing down the Madison River in the Preface of Too Far To Walk, he says,
"....The River experience cemented my connection to that special country and I promised myself that some day I would make the trip again. That day never came for me, and my disappointment still casts a lonesome shadow across the Madison River. For me ow, it's just too far to walk. ff"

He say's he never returned to it.

here kitty kitty.
yeah what's not far and what's too far? forrest had to say it wasn't far if he is telling us to drive down the canyon. he wouldn't want us to drive past it but be on the lookout for hob. this could be what those searchers with the first two clues did or they parked and instead of going back up into the canyon they drove down, because it was the only way to get safely in the canyon, they went straight on forward.
what got my attention the other day was forrest says it isn't necessary to go down a steep precipice. not saying you can't. you shouldn't. you should drive and walk back up into it.

What is “too far to walk” to you? It is the name of a book I wrote. and In the poem, Thrill of The Chase when you talk about “Not far, but too far to walk” and “Take it in the canyon down,” is it referring to a waterfall. You guys seem to be hung up on waterfalls. Don’t try to change my poem to fit your ideas. dalneitzel.com/2017/02/08/forrest-gets-mail-13/

I asked those questions too recently: What's- Not Far but Too Far to Walk? In a MW Surprise words Forrest says: mysteriouswritings.com/forrests-surprise-words-walking-too-far/A polite-like email from Kristie, who admits to being a desk person, prompts me to say that if you are walking long distances in search of the treasure, you’re walking too far. fAnd then in a MW FQ he said: mysteriouswritings.com/featured-question-with-forrest-talking-in-circles/But I will say that I walked less than a few miles if that will help. I just looked “few” up and one definition is “scant.” Why do I sound like I’m talking in circles? fIt would seem from these answers, we could assume 'More than few miles' is Too Far to walk. .

that's reasonable. I think not far is not over 10 miles.

It's interesting that out of all the titles Forrest could have created, he used 'too far to walk'
He must really like or be proud of that 'phrase'....
What does it truly mean?

Yesterday I was throwing a frisbee for my dog's and they were having a blast and started a tug of war over it and I had to break it up. I was saying hay hay guys and then I said to them this has gone way way to far and in that moment something clicked and quickly slipped away. I wish that feeling I had would come back!

And when I came home I was, I was tired. I was tired mentally. I was tired physically. And, I wrote a story that’s in my memoir that’s called My War For Me. If you don’t do anything else, read that story. I think it’s 7500 words, but I’m very proud of that story. It tells, uh…and in my new book Too Far To Walk, I tell another story that’s an aberration to My War for Me story.
