So I found a zoomable USA map of places where sagebrush grows, after listening to Fenns quote about what he would smell if he were standing where the treasure was hidden...Unfortunately that stuff has 12 varieties and grows all over the Rockies lol...It is interesting that Colorado or Wyoming seem to have the greatest amount overall and New Mexico maybe the least , although it is in all the areas one might look I think....It may be more useful for the places to exclude...I had to crank the saturation no my video card to max because they made the colors so light, it helped a little... youtu.be/aJBakBqwQVs?t=108databasin.org/maps/new#datasets=d904c24857de45238508580e4cd818eb

I thought it zoomed in pretty well.

I thought it zoomed in pretty well. Do you think when he included pinion nuts in the things he would smell, that it was a genuine slip that he didn't intend to give out since pinion nuts excludes Montana and Wyoming and so later corrected himself or he meant one thing but said something else?

I heard pinion nuts don’t smell unless they are cooking/ roasting. I think he was genuine. Probably just meant pine trees.

I think he could have meant to say pine, had he not already said pine needles right before pinyon nuts...

Disclaimers: The information in the link I am providing below was not compiled by me, nor do I have any idea who they are!.....I have a very good AV provider and they gave the site a safe rating or I would not have clicked on it! I do not know if this is a work in progress or if the owner has quit updating it. It starts in 2010 and the last entry I see is December 2018. I came across it a few days ago and have not vetted it completely…..but, dam, somebody put a LOT of work into it. Some of you may find it interesting. I would suggest that all peeps new to the search utilize it and/or TarryScant….. (consider my good deed for the year….done!) northofsantafe.com/page/starter_guide
