I have a home of brown that I found taking a canyon down. from there I have a creek. But this creek is on some maps and some searcher could start there by guessing. that's a short cut.

This 'Creek' of the poem is of Question. Most creeks are marked/shown on a Map (more detailed maps of a particular area)...... It would seem someone could just 'pick a creek', and if they were lucky enough, maybe it would be the 'right one'. I'm not sure that is a shortcut Forrest had in mind. Like looking for the Blaze, he feels that is not viable, and so the 'pick a creek' might not be either.
But what if there is a 'hint' or a 'confirmer' to which creek it is in the poem? (back to the initial post, like if it is named 'Owl Creek'... and the word wise in the Poem was used to hint to it).... then it seems like it would be a shortcut.
So it makes me question, does 'Your Creek' have to be generic enough, and not hinted to in anyway, to be correct.... so it can't be considered a shortcut.. of which Forrest feels there isn't one?

Another Quote in regards to Shortcuts: If you can’t find the first clue, you don’t have anything…. I mean….people driving down a street looking for a Blaze, because that’s one of the clues. But You can’t start in the middle of the poem, and find the treasure, I don’t think. It would be a miracle if someone did."www.facebook.com/outsidemagazine/videos/10154966041180429/
