Hello,
For those that have put botg for the search - I was wondering:
How confident were you? Did you have an exact hiding spot in mind? Or just a general idea of the area with hopes of poking around to find the treasure?
Did you have the poem fully solved? Or did you have ideas on a few key clues with hope that the others would fall in place or make sense later?
When you did not find the treasure were you confused as to why not? Or did you accept that your solve was not that strong?
I am simply curious to understand. Thank you.

First, being on location is a lot different than seeing a solution, and the geography, online.
Different times I've gone confidently- BOTG to 'come home with the Treasure Chest', and other times I knew it would be more of a 'scouting out the area's potential'......

Hi jenny. Good thoughts. On my first BOTG on May 5th 2014, I had studied for two months prior and was absolutely confident in everything up to, actually after the blaze... That was an amazing adventure! I have since made 20 BOTG, all to the same area, within a 5 mile radius. I've made huge success in eliminating where it's not! I have now fallen in love with this place and have found there is much to be learned. That alone keeps me going there.

When I went boots on the ground for the first time, I felt like I was a needle in a haystack. Everything is so much bigger in person.

Thanks all. I would like to try a BOTG search sometime. I have a solve for a specific location that would involve max 10 minutes of searching. If it's not there, I turn immediately around and go on with the rest of my day. Unfortunately, I don't see much particularly beautiful or special about the site. If I were to commit I would want it to be somewhere that ties in with an enjoyable vacation.
