Hey Jenny, this seems to be a reasonable assumption. I’m still not convinced one way or another on whether you are actually at the blaze when looking down or if you can simply see the blaze from the hidey spot. When Forrest says he didn’t take a measurement, I think people take that to automatically mean there is no distance. IMO it is just as likely that he couldn’t take a measurement because the blaze was in the distance and he didn’t want to reveal that.
And I think it is still very possible that one may blaze past the blaze on the way to the treasure chest.

When I imagine 'finding the Blaze'..... I feel the location of the Chest is revealed- without doubt or need for any lengthy search. Sure you might need to 'uncover/retrieve/dig the Treasure up' from it's hiding spot... but there isn't a Question for where it is..... if you've found the Blaze and looked quickly down....it is there...and you know it.
This scenario is one which begs the Question then...'Why can't you just look for a 'Blaze'? (and find the chest).
Is it that the Blaze will only be recognized as the 'Chase's Blaze' if following the clues..... or is it because it is such a 'large area', and the Blaze is small, that it can't be reasonably found without following the clues? or some other reason?
