Tell you what. If I find it I won't tell y'all and you can keep looking. :-) lol...... That is another twist...... and one which Forrest addresses since he is able to make comment...... but when he passes, this becomes more to think about.....

I would drink a case of beer over 12 hours or so.... pass out... and dream of possibilities that would never come true. The next morning, I'd wake up with the MOTHER of all hangovers. I'd lay in bed all day suffering, maybe shedding a few tears over that painful thinking. Then that afternoon I'd get up and say to myself, Alright....that door's closed. What's next?lol.... a honest man you are Ironwill.... we may all do a bit of that... I'm sure we'll all be happy for the finder, but there will come the realization the Chase is over... There'll be many emotions..... Yes Jenny there will. I'm so glad I got "bumped" by you on the airplane. You're a first class (get it?) searcher

LOL Well... the story behind that is, in one of my flights out west searching, I was in economy and got seated in the aisle seat. In the middle of 3 was a 400lb offensive line looking guy. He kept his arms crossed the entire flight and literally had me leaning 6 inches into the aisle for 4+ hours getting bumped by the refreshment cart many times. After that experience I vowed I would ONLY fly first class from then on.

So it isn't a 'what if' question anymore..... do you all feel the same way?

So it isn't a 'what if' question anymore..... do you all feel the same way? Frankly, I was already moving on. I did my last BOTG two weeks ago. My solve was out on the Southfork outside Cody, Wy. I had determined at the time there are more important things to focus on in this world at this time.

I'm thinking about writing a novel based on the chase - with some interesting twists to the story.
And I've got to go pick up the Fandango key one of these days.
Gallows Harbor Treasure Hunt sounds interesting and more in my neck of the woods.

I'm really interested to know if I was close or not, so where the poem led to is something I'd really like to know.
We already have plans for a vacation week in July - we decided we're not changing the plans, just not searching (obviously) - the area we go is amazing and we like it enough that we'll go back again this year, content that Fenn has gotten the closure he wanted with the chase.

I have to get real, now. I have problems that I put on hold for this quest, but now it's time to face those. No more fun and games for this old guy.
But it was something, wasn't it?
