Clip on Forrest- 42:10
Question: So you’ve recently been quoted saying tarry scant means "get the heck out there" and so it’s pretty literal.
Forrest: Did I say that? When did I say that?
There’s a recording. It is up on Dal’s site of a recent interview.
Forrest: I think that’s right. So what is your question?
Are all nine clues literal?
Forrest: I’m not going to talk about the clues.
So if we begin WWWH , which you told us many times, and when we cease, and get the heck out of there , what is the reason for stanzas 1,5, and 6?
Forrest: I’m not going to talk about that. You are trying to back me up in a blind canyon.

This is interesting to me..... because he had talked about 'Tarry Scant'....seems he confirms that is not one of the clues or he wouldn't have talked about it previously.... AND if the clues are in order, and the first we know is Where Warm Waters Halt, then Forrest in a round about way confirms the clues are between.... Begin it with WWWH to Cease.

Well the little girl from India can at least get the first 2 clues! If someone were to team up, I think having the first two clues would be a great start!

source-https://youtu.be/PkwPv3bTF1Q So when Forrest was asked about the meaning of "tarry scant" he gave a simple answer, but when asked about clues he said he isn't going to talk about them. Does that mean that "tarry scant" isn't part of a clue, or by itself doesn't make a clue? My guess is that if the question had been >Does the clue "but tarry scant with marvel gaze" mean that you should get the heck out of there?< then Forrest wouldn't have answered or would have deflected it with some non answer.

I think tarry scant is not a clue to Forrest or anything after it. The nine clues start at begin it and go to cease.

source-https://youtu.be/PkwPv3bTF1Q TTH, One must understand the the questions posed to Forrest in the interview come from a treasure hunting team (those physically present in the interview, and those that assisted in preparing the questions beforehand) that has a pre-conceived belief that the clues in the poem only exist between "begin" and "cease". And Forrest is well aware of their belief of this idea. So if he was to give an direct answer to their questions he would possibly be giving this searcher team an advantage either way. This is apparent in his "your trying to back me into a blind canyon" response. Forrest was well aware of these players and what they were trying to do. Seannm

. Sean, I see it the same way. Forrest continues to amaze. Sometimes I try to imagine what it would be like to get as many emails as he does and keep so many peoples names and background in mind. I know the players you are referring to our major and well-known but he also keeps track of many others based on comments he has made.
You are trying to back me up in a b c.?.
maybe, was the discussion on sequential clues before that? Or, was he saying that pretty soon he wont be able to see where the wuestions are going? Or, it relates to the canyon in the poem? Or just that the questioning is going to lead him into a corner that he can’t escape from ?

It was an on the spot question, so I don't think there was any clever hint. His many ambiguous statements on this provide for the two camps of searcher interpretations - at one extreme, stanzas 1, 5, and 6 are just boilerplate ; at the other, 1, 5, and 6 are clues. He is not going to ruin that. I think he wrote the poem intentionally that way to be subject to those interpretations to make it harder.
