A simple alternative reading of the elevation of the treasure would be:

At an elevation of between 5ft and 10,200ft above sea level

So no matter where we are we should put in below 10,200ft. I've always wondered why Forrest was so precise with that top number, but seemed to approximate the bottom number.

If the treasure chest is above and below, that doesn't necessarily mean the first few clues are.

At or around 7,600ft would put you right in the middle. That is where I like to play at or around.
