How do we find 'What' and 'Where' Warm Waters Halt in Forrest Fenn's Poem:

In the above video, some of the possible, and well liked, WWWH are mentioned……
Many we have all seen….
Trout Waters, Firehole River, Mammoth Hot Springs, Ojo Caliente, Boiling River…… And other Hot Springs…..
Seems more and more searchers lean to ‘warm waters’ to indicating a ‘temperature’ of those waters…… instead of other meanings for warm...
Recently it was mentioned in discussions that Warm Waters as a Thermal Feature requires no imagination, and so it was asked then ‘how can it refer to these believed type of 'Warm Waters' since Forrest is all about 'imagination'? ..... Is this a winning argument?

Is this a winning argument? Agreed! If WWWH is the hardest to solve, there's absolutely nothing imaginative about it being physically warm since that is simply the most literal interpretation. While there's a lot of potential warm thermal features to choose from, every single one of them has been examined in detail over the last decade. The puzzle has to be a little more tricky than simply guessing which warm springs is the correct one.

. If the water is NOT warm, would "warm waters" be a red herring?

The fact that wwwh might be a thermal feature isn't imaginative and I don't think it is in YNP but perhaps the name of the feature/hot spring or Forrest's translation of the name is imaginative. WWWH is a starting point to the trail for us. It's a point on a map for us to begin and doesn't necessarily have to have a personal connection to F's life.

According to my logic, if the water is warm to the touch then the warm waters have not halted.

According to my logic, if the water is warm to the touch then the warm waters have not halted. When they halt to be warm are they hot or cold? Is it the warmth that halts, the waters that halt or is something else halting because of “warm waters”...

Maybe that is the something that becomes obvious. I don't think we will ever know until someone has discovered the treasure chest. Caliente doesn't just mean hot, it can mean warm too. That is the only reason I've stayed away from considering the context of warm as temperature.

This one time, while following the poem, I ended up back at my wwwh when I got to marvel gaze. Gotta dwell on that first clue I suppose.

Anyone fixating on the word "caliente" is not going to find Fenn's treasure.

The keep is surrounded by a moat, labvelled ‘La Mer Glacee Sans Passion’ (‘Frozen Sea without Passion’)
One of the first things about the Allellegorical map of the Siege of the Castle of Love that grabbed my atttention, was the fact that it contained in big letters an obvious candidate for Where Halt Warm Waters Halt - La Mer Glacee Sans Passion - The Frozen Sea....
It took me longer to realize that:
Sans = without(F.) = foris(L.) = for is = for est(F.) = forest = Forrest(homophone) Passion = love( f.) = venus = beauty(L) = forma(L.) = morfa = fen( W.) = Fenn (homophone)Fenn
Sans Passion= Forrest Fenn
From the above it is only a small step to conclude that the Frozen Sea on the Allegorical map of The Siege of the Castle of Love can be equated with Forrest Fenn's WWWH

I think what you’re saying is super complicated and I can’t follow it. If this line of thinking makes you happy, then be happy. I don’t understand it at all.

I think what you’re saying is super complicated and I can’t follow it. If this line of thinking makes you happy, then be happy. I don’t understand it at all. Hi Heidini,
I am sorry if I haven't made myself clear.
What I am doing is not very complicated. It does appear that way on paper however, I will admit.
Most of the transformations that I post I am able to "see" in my head quite quickly - certainly a lot faster than I am able to find words to explain what I am doing and why!
Posting an explanation of what I am doing, is a lot harder for me than actually doing it. I have already tried to explain what I am doing and why as simply as I know how, and doubt that any further attempt will make it any easier to understand.
I will try again though if you wish.
