I think his answer might have been phrased differently if he had had sons, more empirical rather than relationship stuff. I have no idea where my parents met. I was born 9 months and 2 weeks after their marriage in Tijuana. geez! what a gift i was! onward! |

There was a rumor that Byron and Sandi had a dinner/movie date in SF and in the middle of dinner he left to bury the cask. I personally won't buy the story. I would never leave my date in a restaurant to dig a hole! Especially if food is good. He could get arrested and left her to pay the bill!
But, I'll bite. The Alhambra Theater is a Moorish Revival movie theater building at 2330 Polk Street. Good place for dating couple and a bit of connection to Alcatraz by name.
Balboa theater at 3630 Balboa St between 37th and 38th has interesting facade design with arches.
Market St. had a bunch of theaters but mostly in shady area and porn theaters. Not ideal for a date!

1980 SF dinner and a movie for our solution? Dinner at Scoma's, then make the short walk up the hill to the Ghirardelli Square Cinema, opened in 1971 and closed in 1986. been there, done that, when the Square was still a shopping area and candy central.
my fav at Scomas.... wild alaskan halibut, asparagas, and their black zinfandel sorbet.🤤
