I hope it's okay to post this here. I have been a treasure hunt fan since I was 10 years old, when I was obsessed with Masquerade's Golden Hare. I've spent years trying to find the french Golden Owl and translated all the clues and hints for a website... So I decided to put all I know about armchair hunts together and make my very own picture book full of clues. It's set in the historic oyster fishing town where I live, Whitstable, Kent, in rainy England! Though like any armchair hunt it can be played from anywhere and no local knowledge is needed. The prize is (of course!) a Golden Oyster. I managed to find a unique oyster brooch, more than 100 years old, to be the prize. This will be topped up by a prize fund created by the clue book sales. It's a not-for-profit venture, and I'm also using it to support a local mental health charity that is crowdfunding for funds to help it survive during lockdown. If you're interested in this new hunt I hope you'll check it out at goldenoyster.co.uk/ The first clue booklets will ship in around a week. I'll post any orders from outside the UK first so everyone can start hunting at around the same time. It was a great deal of fun putting the book of clues together. The clue pictures star my two 6 month old cats, rather randomly... You will have to work out whether they're a feline shaped red herring...
