Hunt Number 5

Before I give the next puzzle just a few words.



If you haven't previously taken part in a 'Just for Kicks' hunt PLEASE READ the Introduction and the Rules thread first.

Its still worth reading this again if you have taken part in a previous hunt. The format of these hunts is slightly different to most and to get most enjoyment out of them understanding how they work and are scored will hopefully increase that enjoyment.

PLEASE DO NOT POST COMPLETE SOLVES or solves to stanza's, post hints or ideas by all means, discuss theories, work together if you need to and are stumped.
Would you enjoy a crossword puzzle that had been almost completely finished by someone else before you start?

These hunts for enjoyment of solving a puzzle in a relatively short period of time, and posting solves spoils the enjoyment for others.

These hunts are not super difficult, they will increase in difficulty but it is expected that multiple people should reasonably expect to reach a final solve after a bit of time and effort has been put in.

This hunt is not about just getting the solution, its about solving as many clues as possible and gaining a greater score by submitting solves for both clues and the final answer. That helps eliminate intelligent guesses.

Please look at the Hunt Number 1, SOLUTION and RESULTS thread if you wish to understand the scoring system better and that by submitting just a final answer will not make you the winner.





I think we all need a bit of light relief after the last hunt, so this one is not difficult at all but should sill be entertaining and enjoyable.

One final comment specific to this hunt. Due to its nature,  no solve will be accepted without the solution to the observation required at each location.  otherwise we might get someone simply jumping to the end and skipping most of the hunt.
With that understood  you can basically ignore stanza three,  it has no other relevance except to warn about cheating.


And with that said on to the next hunt.


In the capital of a once great nation

A clue you must find

A form of transport replaced by car 


Our next stop includes
the title of a movie
outside the clue to see
is the name of an emperor
who might drink coffee 


next where the hero's rival
might have an Aurum Digit
outside the clue to see
is the brand of a watch
from a small country 


finally to your last station
Where leaders talk for the nation
Walk across the bridge, turn left not right
To the place that gives a mighty sight

Has anyone found the "Bar" from stanza 5? I have found the others, but not having much luck finding that one. Can someone at least tell me which "station" to look in?

I sent efanton the whole solve a few days ago but haven't heard back so this hasn't been substantiated, but what I did was focus on the other part of that clue, about the birds. Have you tried looking for a list of stations and checking the street map view of each one?

The clue in first line of the stanza should should make the name of the station pretty easy.   Google is your friend. 

Also bear in mind that if you are stuck,  look at a map of the underground.  If you know the previous station Its only possible to for the next station to be on the lines that pass through that  previous station.

I did find a Bar, but I couldn't see the full name of it, and I tried doing street view but it was a different business....also bar could be a place to drink alcohol or a metal bar lol

I think you are at the wrong station It would be obvious if you were at the correct station.

By bar I mean pub, or place to drink alcohol

Yeah, when you are at the right spot, everything in the stanza makes sense.

I am tempted to give this hunt another week and then post a new hunt.

This hunt was a very easy one, but I thought under the circumstances that it was warranted to give everyone a bit of a breather.
A good number have posted complete solves, but I do not want to spoil the enjoyment for those that may still be working on this hunt.

Let me know your thoughts,  if enough request I start the next hunt early,  I will do so.  Otherwise I will post it at the beginning of next month.

With only one person itching for me to release the next one early, I am thinking to release the next one on schedule.

Lots of successful solves for this one, but I know there are a few more still working on just a few clues for a complete solve.
I am reluctant to release a new hunt if I know people are still working on this one.



If enough shout out I will release the next hunt next weekend on Saturday 20th, otherwise you will have to wait till the 1st July.
