Does it feel realistic that someone came “from the East,” and found the treasure? Why so vague? Why not just say for example, from Oklahoma. Something doesn’t feel right. It almost seems forced, an announcement and no pictures seems off. Travel hasn’t fully resumed due to Covid. Does anyone else have questions?

It's realistic... I'm from the East...just wish the finder had invited me along for the ride!

Back East from a Westerner means East Coast IMO. Why would he be cryptic at this point...

I actually think there are good reasons to be cryptic. Fenn more than anyone recognizes the complications this creates for a person, and god knows this group is good at digging deep! I think The last thing he’d want to do is out this person. Back east can easily mean back east in Texas as much as back east in New York. Still have my money on Smelly Sunshine....

Back East from a Westerner means East Coast IMO. Why would he be cryptic at this point... For Fenn and his generation "back east" can mean Texas, it can also, and often does, mean back from your origin since almost everyone west of the Mississippi came from Europe via the eastern seaboard; and last "east" is also used to denote Asian, Oriental....so I clarified for a reason - it isn't simply an idiom meaning only the east coast.

My mom grew up in louisiana. The Mississippi River definitely was a divider for her. “East of the Mississippi” “west of the Mississippi” “This side of Texas”

Physical and paper gold etc has an extremely high spread due to monetary policy (or willingness to circumvent the fed tsy model).
Forrest went and got it.

I also believe there is bitcoin in that chest. Perhaps Fenn realized it was folly to let someone else have all that money when his grandkids probably will have use for it.

Wow. If you have trust issues, why trust that he hid the chest and the poem takes you to it? Either way, sounds like sour grapes or conspiracy theories. Not a good look.
Just. Wait.
