"Ignore the poem at your peril" Forrest tells us it is foolish to discount any of the words. So why does Eric Sloane feature in the poem hidden as his real name? I have a theory that Forrest found it easier to use it and disguise it in the poem than the artist name he chose. We do know that Eric was a great friend of Forrest's and also that the two Omegas first appeared in Forrest's book 'Seventeen Dollars a Square Inch' strengthening this bond.
Forrest tells us Eric died while waiting for the light to change, not true. He died of a HEART attack. So why hide the fact. The answer seems to lie within the word 'HEART' itself for the initials at the beginning fall in the same way as Forrest hid 'Hinrichs' and 'Everard' but move the 'H' from beginning of Heart and put it at the end and you get 'EARTH' You now see that the initials for Everard Hinrichs are the first and the last letters in EartH leaving the the word 'ART' in the middle.
So Everard Hinrichs 'ART' is important.
The most famous of all Eric Sloane's paintings is the large mural called 'Earth Flight Environment', this could be the big picture Forrest urged us to look at. It includes a Rainbow that has no beginning or end if you look and it is a perfect arc of 180 degrees if you check it out with a protractor. This reinforced my belief in the importance of the Rainbow to the solution of the puzzle, and one of the reasons I wrote the word 'RAINBOW' across the top arc of the Zodiac.
I guess everyone knows how Forrest concealed 'Hinrichs Everard' as shown below:
"And HINt of RICHeS new and old" is hidden in line 4 of Verse 1, and later in line 2 verse 3 we get:
"The end is EVER DRAwing nigh"
Was the poem puzzle devised to pay homage to his great friend Eric Sloane in some way? I think maybe it was.
