Long time listener, first time caller.
I am sure for the vast majority of us these past couple days have brought a plethora of emotions; from shock to sadness, from anger to happiness and everything in between. In a way, it’s like a sudden end to a relationship. That relationship for me lasted close to 8 years and it was, in the grand scheme, a great 8 years. It provided plenty of good memories of trips through the wilderness both alone and with my family; it there for me during some tough times and gave me hope and literally, something to chase. I know that soon I will find another challenge to pursue and life will go on however at the moment my prevailing emotion is one of emptiness, as a chapter in my life has ended. I’m sure many of us feel the exact same way.
The physical treasure has been found, so in terms of a monetary prize there is no 2nd place. The only “prize” left is the hope that we were at least close in our pursuits. Of course unless documented publicly prior to the official solve being revealed, no one can really claim they “solved” anything.
I guess that’s what brings me to posting today- to speak my little piece in the greater play that has now entered the final act. I’m sure all of us, the finder aside, wish we played a different role in this grand game but he we are. I have very mixed feelings on the correct solve being revealed as part of me wants to know that I was right and that I was equal to Fenn’s challenge, yet the other part of me hopes I was WAY off as If I was correct I would have to live with the fact I walked around with a winning lottery ticket for several months and didn’t turn it in in time. Not to mention I was 5 days from flying out to my spot.
With all that being said how I arrived at my final location was a journey WAY to long for a post here- let me just say that I believe Fenn’s rainbow was SEARCHing, “Se—arch”. The end of Chase is “a-se”. The goal was find the two ends of the rainbow.
My journey took me through the Periodic Table, a Monopoly board, and One-eyed Willies treasure map from the Goonies just to name a few.
Fenn talked about life being a game of poker. The winning(highest)hand in poker with a joker is 5 aces- took me 8 years but I felt I finally found his “a-Se” in the hole.

The solution was right in front of our eyes if we looked at the “big picture“.
Approximately 500’ from the Vista Grande Overlook, approximately 200’ from Winsor(heavy loads and water)trail. Near Ski Santa Fe
Thanks for reading.
